Are schools nowadays just a scam?

I’ve been hearing this a lot recently. Even my brother, who works as a freelancer and in the trades, has said the same thing. He graduated in computer science, but he wishes he could go back and do things differently.

Especially young men are trying to avoid modern schools and instead “get their hands dirty” doing real work, getting things done, networking, and contributing to civilization in a more reasonable way.

Public education at every level is 100% bullsh*t. The right turned their backs on it and the left turned it into indoctrination camps for their nonsense.
This was always the plan, mind you. The rich and powerful fought the creation of free and fair public education from inception. Now the only skools worth a sh*t are private institutions, and don’t think there’s not a fair bit of indoctrination in those as well.
The trades are where it’s at right now. All building trades are short of reliable, qualified hands and contractors are paying big money to get the good ones that are out there. Every tradesman i know is making six figures in overtime and many make six figures on straight time. You gotta be willing to put your GD phone down and do the work, expect to get dirty and be smart enough to not get hurt or killed. Take the classes, do the work, and never hafta worry about money again. It really is that easy. It’s those first three prerequisites that most kids can’t handle these days.

That depends on what you study. Obviously, a degree in sociology doesn't do or society all that much good. But do you actually think the electricians wiring up your house are discovering the next innovations in electrical power? Or carpenters are creating better building materials? Or mechanics creating an engine to run on water?

Sure, these trades people are necessary to keep our world running, but it's scientists, inventors, mathematicians, engineers, chemists, biologists, etc., who push progress forward. And yes, computer programmers too, since this world is run by computers.

So while those trades are definitely necessary, don't be so ignorant as to suggest that schools are NOT absolutely necessary for progress in many fields of study.

Trump "university" was a scam. Other title mills, paid to legitimize foreigners working in a country illegally, are a scam. But in general, no, of course not.
