Whether it is a scam depends on what you its purpose is. If you think the purpose of college is to teach you a set of skills to prepare you for a career in a particular profession, you probably tend to think that college is mostly a scam (except for STEM degrees.) If you think the purpose of college is to broaden your perspectives and teach you to think more critically, then college is less of a scam.
Also, in evaluating the success of college, you must remember that many people go from high school to college primarily to hide from the real world for an additional four years, and they are not motivated to accomplish much during those years.
Obviously, scam! we saw successful programmers DROP OUT college and success without college. But most who went got huge debt for nothing.
No, it isn't. A Google search states the following.
"It is inaccurate to call college a scam, as a degree provides significant benefits for most people. The idea that college is a "scam" stems from legitimate concerns about rising costs and the need to maximize the return on investment. However, statistics show that on average, a college education leads to higher lifetime earnings, greater job stability, and better access to healthcare and other benefits. "
You can't trust Google because it's only going to tell you what universities want you to hear
I think for some career fields, it probably is, but not all. I am (ultimately) going to go into the medical field. At least, that is my goal.
How'd you like your nurse, PA or doctor that is checking you out for a medical problem to respond to you asking where they went to school with:
"I didn't go to any college or university"
Uh-oh...
The value of college varies for each individual. College provides education, networking opportunities, and a formal credential that many employers value. While some succeed without it, for others, college offers essential skills for their careers. It's important to consider personal goals, career paths, and economic factors when deciding. College is not universally a scam, but it may not be the best path for everyone. Evaluate your career aspirations and the potential return on investment before making a decision.

False. College is fun and can help you get a job in the field you want.
Your theory is refuted by reality. Most don't get those jobs, so get jobs that they can get without college. And FUN? PAY tuition for FUN?
I don't think so.
Mostly scam
