He said today that there will be free public transportation, free child care and government run supermarkets. When he does not keep these promises will New Yorkers storm Gracie Mansion and drag him out to be tar and feathered?

6 moThere is no such thing as a free lunch. It's all paid for in taxes. He could, however, cut the bureaucrats in half (or better) if he knew what he's doing. That might lead to tax rates remaining on the same level or even tax cuts while the infrastructure improves. The bureaucrats' wages make up the bulk of the cost of everything in a socialist setting, after all. Shoe0nHead considers him a different kind of Democrat - we'll see. She's usually pretty good at estimating people's worth. If he's good at organizing stuff, he might see limited success even within the socialist ideology. New York is already socialist and a hellhole, Mamdani is supposed to be an anti-establishment socialist according to Shoe0nHead - and She is known for calling Democrats out for being "absolute flops". He might do better. If he starts out with new taxes on "the rich", the hopes are pretty slim and his action might further doom the Demo (n) crats in the midterms, something that might actually finish them off.

He thinks he's going to make the rich pay for all of this! A lot of the rich have already left the state!! Next, he'll hit up the millionaires!! after they all leave, he'll hit the mildly well-off people!! Then people like us, then people not as well off as us, then the poor, you know, the people he claims to wanna help! How long before everyone starts going after him with pitchforks and torches?

21 Reply- 6 mo
it is free for the welfare class, They were the ones that voted for him. All the big financial companies are moving to Texas and Florida. Wiht them are all the employees. All that tax revenue will be gone. Realtors in New Jersey report that there is a lot more interest in housing sales. Being a sanctuary city will result in loss of federal funding.
Maybe New York City can print it's own currency.

u 6 moNothing is free. If consumers don't pay, then the cost must be borne by someone else. And, as a great conservative once said, "the trouble with socialism is that - sooner or later - you run out of other people's money.'

Yes, she was a great conservative.
Anonymous(18-24)6 moIt isnât just âfree stuffâ / giving things away, it is about genuine reform meant to help people in their everyday lives. His campaign was running on affordability, better living, and lowering grocery prices were policy current President Donald J Trump ran on in 2024. Many on GAG advocated for voting Trump specifically for affordability. Donald J Trump met with Zohran Mamdani, only praising him in the press conference in Oval Office even to the mediaâs surprise on Right and Left
Policies Mamdaniâs Campaign Ran On Are As Follows, Housing, Safety, Affordability, Early Childhood & Education, How Theyâll Pay For Their Agenda, Environment, Citizen Protections, Healthcare, Labor, Small Business, Libraries, and Standing With New Yorkers Against Big Government Intervention. Each tab on the website explains each concern in detail
Mamdani even said it himself, a normal voter will probably not agree with every policy, although will still feel a little encouragement from an issue they care about being listed or two or three. This is New York City, which is very Liberal, Progressive, Leftist, Center Left. So if you are from Texas or Montana or Alaska you might not resonate however it is worth mentioning why Zohran Mamdani won as the first Muslim Mayor to be elected. It is because he ran on policy the voters wanted to see positive meaningful change in by a political candidate willing and ready to speak up for them. The voters spoke with their votes and Mamdani was the vision, not Cuomo or Sliwa or Adams.

After 4 years of high inflation it takes a lot of effort to bring prices down. Lower energy costs , reduced regulation and lower interest rates is the way President Trump is doing it.
Raising taxes on the rich to subsidize everything is how this charlatan thinks he will do it.
Opinion Owner6 moThe thing is, he is raising the tax on the rich to the same rate in New Jersey. That is the proposal.
Which gives an additional $1.2 billion to work with. Not to mention the bus plan actually is paid for by the $735 million in the budget set aside to begin with. It isnât far fetch.
Iâm intrigued you admitted Trumpâs agenda is hard to achieve given his promises. Mamdani actually has a plan which is based on a lot of different areas of research not just pointless numbers, Trump claims drug prices are down 2000% 5000%. Like how does that make sense? It doesnât.

6 mofor a while. as long as he can get away with raising revenue and distributing to others, yes. but can only do that so far before prices come down as people leave and then get less taxes.
he never explained why landlords should repair buildings others are trashing because they will just trash them again with their vaping, destruction and and high costs of repair... it is't worth it. So whom is paying for all that.
I was driving into the city but it's ludicrous expensive so I avoid it due to high total cost. So that's lost revenues. Most people though are trapped rats in a maze.
10 Reply 12.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. The problem with capitalism is that you don't have to be the one gambling, to be the one losing money. You lose your business due to Trump tarrif? Tough luck. Corporations, and farmers near collapse due to Trumps tarrif? They get a taxpayer funded bailout.
New York is a shit hole rolled in glitter, that does nothing for the majority of people there. What Zohran (Zoltan is a Jewish name, you fucking goon) is proposing are policies that are already working elsewhere in the US. He's just bringing them together in one city.
If any thing it should be Trump and his circus that should be dragged out to Capitol Hill and strung up like Mussolini. Trump did after all endorse Zohran when they went before the cameras.
02 ReplySocialist allied with Islam to start the Iranian revolution and turn Iran from a decent country into into a complete shithole controlled by sharia law. Socialist allied with Islam to take Somalia and turn it from a stable country into a complete shithole controlled by sharia law in an Islamic Jihadi insurgency. Socialist allied with Islam to take over NYC... Where exactly do you think this is going?
22 Reply- 3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
6 moSure, but the people who voted for him wonât be getting the free stuff. Did Minnesotans benefit from all the free money Walz and his corrupt cronies delivered to the Somali criminals?
Expect more stories like that coming out of NYC soon.
The same people who get richer under capitalism get richer under socialism. Regardless of the name of the game, the result is ALWAYS the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.10 Reply

Yes. What you've just articulated is a myth that Trump tells you in order to justify his behavior. What you're going to see is that MAGA is going to go away in the next midterm election, largely. If Trump allows it to be held, he may not. And if he doesn't, we're going to have a lot more trouble than we have now. I don't think you have any clear perception that we are on the verge of a civil war, particularly if Trump invokes the Insurrection Act, which I believe he is preparing to do. I also don't think that you comprehend how difficult, bloody, and disturbing a war like that in our country would be. You should read something about what the Civil War was really like, to understand exactly how bad this sort of thing can be.

@slatyb and yet California has the largest budget deficit in the country. You can have the biggest GDP but if the state is being run into the ground by a corrupt and incompetent governor it is still a shithole. 50% of homeless people are homeless in California and yet they pour millions into the problem.
