Hard to say. One could argue that African countries attacked Europe first. Ie the invasion of spain, france, scilly, italy. The constant pirate raids and enslavement of Europeans.

Must of been quite a shock thst after being kicked out of spain back to africa that Portuguese and spainish ships turned up on African shores.
