I have a giggle when leaders from Greenland are interviewed and they have no clue about any agreement... pretty sure they would be consulted if there really was a deal or serious negotiations.. Trump is a clown. Good news is the world is finally admitting it and acting accordingly. This agreement has been in place for 75 years and is for NATO countries. Trump never met with Greenland or Denmark to negotiate anything because he didn't have to, he met with the Secretary General of NATO Mark Rutte. Any NATO country can do what Trump claimed he did. Trump made a big show that he was going to take over Greenland and in the end he agreed to do what every single other country already knew he could do and making himself look like an idiot in the international community.

Recently the US military asked my country if they could take over one of our old base. We went, "Yeah sure no probs." We even let them do low flying exercises wherever they want.

Germany has been paying FOR NATO the same amount as the United States for decades. And since the West obviously won the Cold War, there is no point in having millions of soldiers on standby against a ragtag army formerly known as the Soviets.

Germany currently has 185.000 active soldiers plus a huge reserve force. The United States has currently 35.000 soldiers in Germany. The times with 85.000 US soldiers are long gone and then Germany had more than 600.000 soldiers on active duty.
