In hindsight, did Democrats made a strategic mistake in the 90s for not impeaching Bill Clinton when he committed the felony of perjury?

To refresh your memory, Bill Clinton lied under oath about have any sexual relations (including oral sex) with Monica Lewinsky. A special prosecutor named Ken Starr was appointed to investigate. After investigating, Starr found evidence of perjury, obstruction of justice and witness tampering. Democrats nonetheless resisted punishing Clinton. In hindsight, given these facts, I think it's harder to impeach and imprison Trump for committing obvious crimes. If Clinton would have been impeached for his crimes, it would have been easier to impeach Trump. Therefore, it was a strategic mistake. What do you think?

There was no mistake. Bill Clinton was a good president, although he shouldn't have purged himself, but he did anyway to try and protect Monica Lewinsky. I can understand why he did that, although I don't approve of it. All that said, he in no way was as evil or distressed or disturbing as Trump is. There is just no comparison.
