I've lived here all my life and spent at least 30 years visiting sketchy parts of Los Angeles County, low income parts of town inhabited by minorities, and places that had reputations for being dangerous.
I've also traveled all around the country.
I never had a problem, never got robbed, and have certainly never been shot at. People I encountered were always really nice. But I never flaunted anything of value or acted like an ass hole when I was out and about.
Lived in Chicago for most of my life, currently living outside the city and I have never been shot at.
There are bad areas that are gang ridden but that is nowhere near the actual city part that people work and visit.

Nobody has shot at me with the intent to maim or kill. Paintball is fun though! So are squirt gun and nerf wars!
I do know two guys who went to prison for shooting someone though. And i’ve known four guys who suicided with guns.
I also come from two families of hunters and shooters. So i’ve been around firearms my whole life. I’ve observed live gunfire firsthand innumerable times.
For most law abiding citizens, experiencing gun crime is extremely rare; almost unheard of it’s so rare. The confusion is understandable though. The leftists claim gun crime is rampant in an attempt to disarm law abiding citizens. Conservatives claim it’s rampant so they can justify carrying loaded firearms anywhere and everywhere. It really is rare though. The hyperbole is weaponized as a political tool for both sides.
Do the paintballs hurt?
They can sting a bit if you’re too close and/or not properly clad. You definitely want face protection.
No doubt
I've never been intentionally shot at that I know of. 🤣 However we do live in the rural woods of New England and shooting accidents occur. Like one time my oldest sister came back from hunting to find a bullet hole in the door of her truck that was parked out in the woods. 😳
Maybe termites made the hole. 😁
NEVER. But there was a gunman in my high school and he tried to shoot the substitute, but this was almost 20 years ago before school shootings were the norm.
I'm honestly not surprised your Korean friend said that, because I met a Korean guy on my recent trip who said he's scared to visit the US because Trump will arrest him. I don't know what kind of crazy anti-American propoganda they're spewing over there.
I showed him pictures of some nice country scenes and he said he just imagined it was all asphalt like Gotham city. 😅
That reminds me, I was visiting in Canada and a little boy came up to me and with a real snotty tone told me that Superman was Canadian. His mom wasn't looking so I barked at him. "Bullshit! Superman is from planet kryptonite and he's in the US on a work visa!"
He walked off. 🤔
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Canadians are stupid and anti-American too, except in Quebec City and the Prairie provinces
To this day I don't know how he knew I was an American. Maybe we talk funny? 😂
Yeah, unless the person has a regional dialect I cannot tell if someone is Canadian or American just from their accent
Unless they say "aye."
Yeah 😂
lol, zero. don't know anyone ever shot at.
The news takes the worst and expands it. there are areas where this happens more than others where it doesn't at all.
Bad news sells better than good news.
That's all it is. I've had many positive encounters including on the streets of nyc. you'll never see them on the news. If it ended in a bloody mess, you would.
Just accept USA news for what it is... smut to sell clicks!
Compare that to China... whom blocks this kind of stuff from media.
I didn't stay in Chicago very long but if I did chances that I could've been it's for sure that kind of place. Worse than the worst area in my city.
But no I never have been lucky
I've never been there either but it sounds like the wild wild west.
Chicago is the only place I've been around for an active shooter. It was gang shit and i wasn't being shot at. I was in the alley they were shooting at each other in because I was at a relatives house where parking was off of an alley with heavy gang activity.
I've been to the states a few times. Never got shot or saw a shooting.
I live there and it's extremely rare.
I haven't been south of the border that much in my life. I have never been shot at nor do I know any one who has been.
You ever feel left out cuz no one will shoot at you?
Kidding.😁
Good
Wick gets shot at least 30 times before breakfast.
I had an afternoon in the US.
I can attest not only was I not shot at a single time during that afternoon, but I didn't even hear any gunshots at all.
Nope, not even a gun pointed at me. The only actual guns I've seen in real life were holstered on police officer's belts.
Even cops rarely take it out of the holster.
In an old residence there was a drive by and a stray round went through my window into my tv. I was lucky, the young black teenager they were shooting at was not.
Yikes
Only twice and both times I wasn't the intended target.
Wrong place at the wrong time?
The first time it was at the cops investigating where I had gotten jumped back in November of 1998. The other was in 2006 when I had a dude named Big Man over that I used to sell weed to. The shooter shot 3 times from outside my ghetto ass apartment that was a makeshift addon to a house that was probably built in the early 1900's. I grabbed enough of things and moved the fuck out the next morning.
Now that sounds like a John Wick movie. 😄
Oh yeah, I failed to mention that neither I or Big Man got shot but that first bullet whizzed right by my left ear. I still remember feeling the heat as it was about 2 inches away from drilling into the back of my dome.
I think Trump knows what that heat feels like. LOL
Well shit he actually got hit! That was like a one inch deal in Butler.
Never ever. I live in Seattle and there are a few gun deaths a year but it's still quite safe. But other developed countries are safer. The US has about 10 times as many gun deaths per capita as other developed countries.
Never. Never seen someone shot at either. It happens tho.
Going on 69 years, here and, so far, except for a squirt gun, never.
My step dad got shot, but it was his own bullet. 😗
Zero times I’d rather have fist fight than being shot at I’ve had plenty of those bare knuckle fist fight
I've been shot at more times than I can remember. But never on US soil other than Nerf gun fights with my kids.
I used to visit the US regularly for business and I've never been shot at but I've heard gunshots a few times.
Currently zero, unless you count fireworks (once), water guns (too many times to count), or paintballs (two fun filled days).
I have a question for Koreans.
Is there anyone in your nation that doesn't have a pancake ass?
I have never been shot at but I also lived in Korea for two years and never saw a Korean that had any semblance of an ass.
To aid visibility, could I ask the Americans in the audience that have been shot at and slaughtered to please raise their hands?
never been shot at
People from other countries think it's common in the US but it really isn't. It's pretty rare.
I have never been shot at yet.
None, because I stay out of the ghetto.
Only once but I sorta had it coming
Well I've been shot before but it was my fault
John Wick always shoots his enemies in the head.
Never and I’ve been here 26 years
Never
It's not as exciting as in the movies. LOL
Never.
Once , when I was umpiring at park
Ummmmm, none!
3 times.
