Now she claims she didn't expect the reaction, that someone would question whether women were perpetrators of violence and making false accusations.

Because Amber (now Martha) believes that as a woman she can falsely accuse a man. she doesn't specifically say it but the attitude of the article suggests that women not being able to get away with false accusations is somehow sexism. Its not. Its justice. Those that do that are straight up evil. It basically hurts real victims everywhere. She not only deserved to pay Johnny Depp money, She should have faced prison time for what she did. Their situation is a cautionary tale to never, ever trust women, never ever be alone with women without some kind of way to record the situation. Which is also evil, Because i am willing to bet that most women aren't as crazy as her. Her situation did more to hurt male/female relations than #MeToo ever did.

Because it works in 90% of cases.
She even committed a crime while laying under oath as witness, that wasn't further prosecuted.
It's practically zero risk but possible full reward. From opportunistic perspective it's fault of the system. If there was a risk to get two years on probation for perjury she wouldn't do that, but her lawyer advised her to lie.
