No. It was particularly popular in the late '60s and '70s.
That was when liberalism was cool and people treated each other like brothers and sisters. Way before the Obama era when Democrats and "new" liberals started promoting nonsensical ideas like cultural appropriation and white privilege in an effort to inflame racial tension and divisiveness.

Not inherently.

Hair is personal and cultural, but context matters. Wearing an afro respectfully, understanding its history, and avoiding mocking or appropriating is key. It becomes offensive only if it disrespects the culture or trivializes its significance.

Anyone can have naturally curly fro hair. The guy in the pic obviously has curly hair that hasn’t been moisturized and defined.

If you brush out curls you get a nice Afro. Add some curl defining gel or cream and you’ll have get defined curls.

Example of someone with curly hair… half defined curls… half Afro.

Ugly af but not offensive they were a fad in the 70s at least among blacks and whites. I don't know if other races wore their hair like that. The look that Barny Collier from Mission impossible had. White people often wore afro wigs to get the look.

Um I don't see how that would be offensive.. So how do you determine, whether someone naturally very thick, tightly curled, or coily hair, or whether it's styled or altered to look this way (unless they're wearing a wig or something).. Anyone can have naturally tightly curled or kinky hair; this isn't exclusive to a particular race
