Could you trust a landlord after he lied?

My kid's baseboard had sparked which is a fire hazard. All he did was slap a dial onto the baseboard and told me everything's fine. He also thought it was funny because I was scared when he opened the baseboard and it sparked at his hand. When investigators came he denied that this happened. I can't trust him and I'm very angry for this!

He is required to provide a safe home. There are codes almost everywhere requiring that rented housing be safe. We rent a condominium and our owner had to have a ground-circuit-fault-interrupter outlet installed in our kitchen to be able to continue renting the unit. There is a government agency that regulates this in your city or state. Contact them.

Yes I look at him differently now and luckily I can break my lease. If he wasn't a bitch or coward and just told them the truth I wouldn't be as upset or upset at all.

You can never trust a landlord anyway, and particularly not after what you've described. I would call the fire department. Tell them what happened to make them come out again.

Most landlords that I dealt with were more concerned with getting the rent checks and not getting sued.
