Should you trust the word of a liar?

I think it was Pirates of the Caribbean that spoke on how you can indeed trust a liar, specifically that you can always trust them to lie and you can be prepared for it. Not so much when someone who isn’t a liar chooses to lie.
Maybe, it just depends. Do they lie often? What do they lie about, and why do they lie?
I'd of course take everything with a grain of salt and will always be skeptical whether or not what they say is true. If I can, I'd look into other sides/perspectives of a story to see if they're being truthful for once.
But overall, I'd rather not interact with liars, especially those who are a little too good at lying.
get a second, or third opinion

kinda depends
feel like if you're around someone long enough then you get a good idea when they're lying
@AndrésC64 why should you?
No, I never believe a word Trump says.
Why would you trust the word of a liar.
