What is your opinion about Trump sending another aircraft carrier to the Middle East?

I feel like the government is constantly causing Americans to be poor, yet, this ongoing unresolved war with Iran is costing America 🇺🇸 trillions of dollars!

Is the United States government stealing from Peter to pay Paul?

I just heard that if America 🇺🇸 goes to war with Iran it's going to make gas ⛽ prices skyrocket. What says you?

On gas, doesn't really matter. The prices will steadily go up anyway regardless of any local events that might propagate throughout the global market. Wells are getting more and more expensive to bring in as upstream prospectors have to go further and further into more extreme climates to bring in wells. It was the oil companies who told the US government that the oil supply was becoming a problem. The oil shale development (fracking) was a joint venture between the US government and oil companies that benefitted both of them. When the GDP swells and companies make more money, so too does the government based on their tax rate.

It's not a matter of IF oil will run out, it's when. The US is already well underway in spearheading renewables until something more revolutionary comes along like fusion has an actual economic breakthrough instead of the hype we've been hearing about for decades now. In my opinion, our next energy frontier will be space based solar harvesting arrays, but that's a long way off. The state of Kansas already gets 60% of their energy from wind and solar. Renewables are no joke, their implementation is a reality. I live in a house that has solar panels on the roof. During the summer months, we get energy credits when we produce more energy than we consume, we put the excess back on the grid for someone else to use. It lowers coal consumption at conventional power plants displacing nonrenewables with renewables.

When the Middle East doesn't have countries where the age of consent for marriage is at birth, then they can earn the right NOT to be babysat by the US military. Stop using the Quran to oppress women. Give them a voice. It's my understanding that many people in the Middle East do not follow the books teachings to the letter.

A society is judged by how well it treats the most vulnerable amongst them. This usually means women, children, the elderly, and infirmed.

My point is, oil should not be used to justify going to war when the human race will have to learn to survive without it anyway. Neither is it an acceptable excuse to oppress people.

It's idiotic. I hope he is just posturing and not planning to attack. I think he thinks he can intimidate Iran into accepting his "deal", which is really Israel's deal.

Iran would be stupid to accept the deal. It would be suicidal. So it won't accept the deal. It is well prepared for war if necessary.

It the U. S. attacks Iran, Iran will unleash hell on Israel and on U. S. bases in the region. The U. S. would lose valuable assets and soldiers would come home in body bags.

Iran is a huge country and the U. S. can't conquer it by bombing. And a boots on the ground invasion would be doomed. Plus, China said it would support Iran if it was attacked.

Ehhh maybe. It's a different situation now. I haven't followed politics the last month but based on what you're saying it reminds me of the tactics China uses to put pressure on decision making.

They're well known for flying over illegal airspace but and breaking rules but doing so in a way that makes retaliation seem unwarranted.

Kinda like when the annoying kid in class pokes the other kid really hard and whenever the first kid tells the teacher, the bully says "what I was only doing this" and acts like it was a gesture to get the other kids attention or to be playful.

Trumps pattern best I can tell is to cause as much tension, anxiety and uncertainty as possible so that force is easier or the solution he offers becomes the easy choice.

I used to do the same thing to venders when I worked in the wedding business. When I did wedding work. I'm doing it now with selling a house. People do it to eachother in the creative industry a lot too. I did a show with Robin Leach where he did the same idea to force the production company to pay him more. Trump's just really on a whole other level with it because he takes the idea to an extreme that's only possible with a massive disparity in leverage.

Like having access to 11 aircraft carriers each one individually having the power to wipe out a country.

If we get into a hot war with Iran, it will be over in a week or two. We have absolute air superiority over them and if it is necessary, we will level Tehran. Rank and file Iranians. oppose the theocratic leadership and will give its government no popular support. As in Venezuela, the people will be dancing in the streets When we depose. I agree that gas prices will bump up a little, But we have access to Venezuela's oil, whether they like it or not. And to Alberta's oil and they will like it. As I speak, Alberta is trying to become independent from Canada. And there's good reason to believe that their next step will be statehood.

Not American but you have fixed costs. Whether the carriers are deployed or not you still have to them the $'s.

It is not really a war - so far just one bombing run. Iran mostly exports to China so logically it should not increasepetrol prices but fear always does cause blips.

I think there will be a bunch of dead Iranian proxies this year. They will pay for killing the two American soldiers last month. And since the nuclear talks are not going well, the US may attack Iran and the people there may rise up against the country. Sending the carrier group is more than a message, it is incoming death.
