It's fun watching people socialize and witnessing the different skill levels, strategies, and fumbling around. Not that I'm any paragon of virtue when it comes to social skill. I don't generally care enough to give it a lot of effort or time with most people.

Agreed. Social skills are a key driver of success. Given that true success is rare, it follows that most people haven't mastered their social intelligence.

Being social is natural for some people. I think some people prefer not to be social to avoid awkward moments.

Disagree. Go to school with 50k and most everyone is social to some degree or another.
