Is Colorism just an extension of white supremacy?

I see so many non-white people, that are fair skin, look down on people that are darker skin tone to them. For example, Indians view fair skin as the most beautiful and dark skin as least attractive. This is engrained in their culture, shown with their prevalence of skin whitening and even shown in their pattern of interracial dating. We can also see this among other Asian groups, many of them mock and discriminate against other Asian for having darker skin tone and prioritize fair skin as the most beautiful. It's even shown that in Asian culture, there is a belief that if your skin is dark, you are associated with being poor and uneducated.

If we look at Hispanic group, the fair skin Hispanics often look down on those that are darker in skin tone. Even among blacks, that black people of lighter phenotype are more attractive than those of darker skin tone. We can also see with many black athletes that a lot of them end married to white women once they have made it big in their career.

When we look at who white racist target, they often only seem to have issue with ethnic groups that are dark skin tone. Light skinned Asians are often called "honorary whites" by these racist. Hispanics that are light skin tone often aren't targeted or harassed by these groups. And the two major groups that are often demonized and looked down upon are Indians and Blacks. Both whom are associated with darker skin phenotypes.

I don't know if you are following the news or not but racism against India has increased a lot.

I don't know if you have noticed but being out in the sun tends to give you a suntan. So it has been a status symbol to not have a suntan since agriculture and houses were invented.

Lack of suntan means you are not having to labor in the fields; particularly for the ladies who also seem to think lighter skin tones make them more beautiful. Aside from skin tone, women who sunbathed a lot developed very wrinkled skin in their older years and looked like prunes. Never good.

Women have been seeking lighter skin tones for well over 2,000 years and that is too long ago for them wanting to look like white girls.

Nah they just wanted to look like they didn't work in the fields. A large part of what you are saying disappears with these considerations.

In terms of black athletes marrying white women, women are the gatekeepers of relationships and quite likely white bitches are more likely to go after guys with money and status. Since men just want women who are nice to them and put out, maybe white girls out compete on that basis. So those marriages happen.

With Asian girls, they are super cute so who is going to hate on them? If they dye their hair blonde or a non black color it is hard to pick them as Asian on first glance. Changing their hair color more than skin tone is what is effective for them

Can't say anything on Latina's as sadly there are precious few locally which grieves me because I'm pretty sure I'd like them a lot irrespective of tones.

Colorism has nothing to do with whites or white supremacy. Hispanics and latinos are mostly white being the colonial descendants of Spainards and Portuguese.

In south east asia, china and India lighter skin is perceived as more desirable not because of white people, this was a thing way before Europeans showed up in their ships like the spainish and Portuguese or even the greeks showed up in india in 327BC. To them paler skin is a status symbol and thats the case even today, people with darker skin are of a lower caste you know farm labourers, builders etc that work all day out in the sun whereas upper caste people living mostly in the city stayed out of the sun to protect their skin and stay white. Asians did this for a few thousand years and now are practically two different ethnicities.

Colorism is an aesthetic preference not politics. And whether you like it or not, the reason why there is apparent white supremacy is because white people invented almost everything on earth. It does not mean that we are superior to others in the eyes of God. But we have outperformed them. If others want to have equal ranking with us, they need to achieve like we do. And certain other ethnicities have done that. Particularly the Japanese and the South koreans.

It's a made up cultural thing that some humans do to try and gain status when they have nothing else. It's insecurity manifesting itself.
