I read today that China is going to launch the worlds first pregnancy robot this year. What are your thoughts on this?

Is this going to make women obsolete? Or does this just make women putting their bodies through the trauma of giving birth obsolete? To those women whi have already given birth, is this going to have fallout severing the boding that occurs between mother and child?

it can't make women obsolete as you still need eggs. basically eggs would be harvested, fertilized by male sperm and then placed into the robots which are effectively robotic wombs... but you still need the fundamental components (egg and sperm) to create life

I guess in theory it could help women avoid carrying pregnancy and going through childbirth which can be traumatic and also in cases fatal right? i imagine it would also make delivery of a child safer as you do not have to worry about breaches as once the baby is ready to deliver you simply open the robot womb

there could be fallout from mother and child due to lack of bonding but then again we already have surrogacy where a mother doesn't carry their child.

I understand in your friends case. I've always said I would not marry a woman who was unwilling to carry and give birth to my child. Not because I want to see her go through that trauma. But because it's emblematic of a sacrifice a mother is willing to make. How can be sure that's she's really committed if she's unwilling to do that. I hear plenty of G@G women say they want to preserve their body. Which only further makes you leery. Because it comes off as, "I want to stay attractive in case this doesn't work out and I need to remain hot when I go back on the market.😆
But yeah, I totally understand in your friends case.
