Why is there so much discourse about who is and isn't white, but the same doesn't apply to blacks, Asians, etc?

For example I've seen people say Italians, Greeks, Slavs, Portuguese, etc aren't white even though they're European and most have white skin. People also argue whether whiteness is skin color or being European.

But you never see people argue about Koreans, Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese being Asian, why is this?

i mean if you are determining whether someone is white or not, then that has implications on other races doesn't it?

the reason this matters because being white, has historically been associated with a very different way your life can be lived

also having lived in asia, been to africa and even the caribbean, there is a lot of discourse and debate about where you are from. For example people in Puerto Rico are generally fine wiht you unless they find out your Dominican

In asia which Asian country you were from certainly was a matter significance to some people.

i think in the USA and Europe the issue has centered around whiteness because white folks have been in power in those two places. so i guess the answer is, it is based on potential privilege

Whiteness was first defined by the democrats& KKK and basically they determined that only Americans who were White Anglo Saxon Prodestant or of germanic ancestry were white. So that left the Italians, scilians, spainish, Portuguese, polish, irish, Russians, Romanians, irish, jews, turks as non white in their eyes. This extends even further with the Mexican wars, the spainish American war and the banana wars.

I think it's just because the only people who really talk much about that sort of thing are the blacks and the whites.

They don't usually care about Asians, and Asians themselves tend to have better things to do than bicker about race. I remember a few years ago when they tried to do a "stop Asian hate" movement, but then it quickly died out because it came to light that black people committed the most crimes against Asians and all the social justice warriors had to pick a side.
