First, Normally i am almost always HIGHLY critical of leftists. Especially considering they use the term Fascist, Racist, and all of the Phobic terms WAY too much. But in this case its justified. The City of newton had a man arrested twice because of his remarks during the "Public comment period" of a town hall meeting. He was charged with Disorderly conduct.
In my opinion, and in the opinion of the court, The government can't arrest you over criticism. Which is what they did. The first arrest was just criticism over the officials in the on the city council, the second was after he called them fascist. They said it was a rule violation that got him arrested. A rule against derogatory comments. A rule that is unconstitutional. I dont care what side of the political coin you fall on, you dont get to silence criticism, PERIOD. If it were me, after this victory, i would sue, and do everything in my power to bankrupt the city.
I wanna know WTF they were thinking doing this.

I agree with everything you said. In America, it's not a crime to criticize government officials or even call them names, although swear words are inappropriate and counterproductive.
If Americans were doing their duty, they would show up and speak out at city council and county board meetings to make their opinions heard. And they should hold their elected representatives accountable. I am even in favor of peaceful protests. Merely voting in elections is lazy.
The people who have the power are abusing the laws and making up laws as they go along.
What he called them isn't against the law. Period. And he should sue them
I'm sure lawyers can't wait to take this case to court!!
Newton is a very liberal city. We call it the People's Republic of Newton. I am not surprised at this.
