Is my friend reckless for staying in Dubai? How can I convince her to come home?

She's a US citizen. I messaged her on Feb 18th to come home when Iran and Russia were conducting drills in the Gulf of Oman. She brushed it off and said she's not in Oman. Then when Dubai got hit, she said she's in the neighboring town, now her town got hit. She still refuses to leave, 'cuz she doesn't wanna leave her husband (not American) and it's risky to fly. But 2 weeks ago when there was miltary tension building, I told her to come home, but she said she's not leaving her husband. I don't know what to do. You think she should have listened to me when I told her 2 weeks ago to leave?

Best thing for her to do now is to stay in a secure place. It would be more dangerous to try to fly out of Dubai since the airport was hit by Iranian drones. The only other option to leave would be to drive through Saudi Arabia, but that's always dangerous because its one huge dry and very hot desert.

Plus you need a visa and you can't just go wherever you want, though that would be a cool adventure

Tell them they are completely safe. If Iran uses nukes this will probably hit Israel, However VX gas that kills in a dose of 0,4mg and can't be filtered with normal gas mask filters is still an option for Dubai. Tell them that food won't be a problem because no one needs functioning sea route for food delivery. Than ask them what for color of flowers they would like for funeral, but point out it has noting with current situation to do.

Yeah... bad timing on that one, and why I would never ever go to such places.
Maybe nice in appearance but it's a warzone.
She should get out, but hopefully not much will happen since Iran's military aren't really going to last that long at this rate lol

Honestly if I was in Dubai right now I wouldn't get on a plane or ship until things die down. she's best to hunker down, she can't get out.

She’s probably ignoring you for the sake of her marriage. It’s fine to show concern for your friend, but it’s not your job to make her come home and make her go anywhere. The fact that she’s married makes what you’re doing highly inappropriate. Offer some advice and leave it at that. The decision to follow that advice or not to is there’s.
