China now has biggest economy with billions of people buying and selling. They produce 40% of the world's products. They have largest NAVY and biggest Army. They are beating the US in every field. The US sees them as the biggest threat. They also own a lot of US reassures.

Is Trump trying to cut off oil supplied to China? Trying to get a a war with China started? When US cut Japan's supply of oil off in 1940's , we had Pearl Harbor attacked. China has shown restraint up to this point. China just gets stronger and more powerful everyday and the US gets weaker and older.

Entirely possible, china gets very cheap oil from iran. Back when Russia started acting up there came a plan to link Oman oil/gas to Europe by a pipeline that ran straight through Syria. Now Syria was a long time ally of Russia. If the pipeline went ahead it would have had a major affect on Russian oil/gas profits selling to Europe. Russia is huge but its economy is roughly the size of spain or italy so it relies heavily on oil/gas profits. A few months before the Syrian civil war there was articles in newspapers and magazines in the US praising Assad and his English wife as being a progressive moderate leader in the middle east. Assad choose his alliance with Russia over the US and the Syrian civil war broke out with America funding, training and arming Rebel groups some of which turned out to ISIS. ISIS would later spread chaos in iraq, Afghanistan and with the Iranians.

Anyway so the US government went to plan B to cut Russian oil profits by providing cheap oil/gas and cheap energy and that move was fracking and renewable energy. This cut global oil/gas prices which drastically affected Russian GDP and as they were at the time rebuilding and modernising the Russian military, this was a major set back the long term results of which we see by the Russian militaries failure in Ukraine.

Thats a long story related to Russia but it demonstrates the long term strategic decision making that goes on, that was Obama not Trump but all presidents follow the same hym sheet. Iran is a threat they've been attacking the US for years and its time they were stopped. China is trying to undermine the us economy, should the US just stand back and let them.

tRump is too stupid to come up with the "starve the Chinese economy of oil" strategy. That would be a scenario the war planners at the pentagon would have gamed out. But... we have a little experience with that scenario. We tried that with Japan in the 1940's. You know, causing them to enter WWII with an attack on Pearl Harbor so they could attack their neighbors and gain control of oil supplies in East Asia. It's a losing strategy. But some asshole zealot probably thinks it's a genius move.

No, China can get oil from anyone. Canada will sell China oil if they want it. China is provoking the US and driving it into massive debt. The tax base in the US declined in 2025 meaning fewer taxpayers for Trump's spending spree. Military action isn't cheap and China will keep supplying Iran with weaponry to keep this going as long as possible. China has been provoking the US for years in SE Asia to the point where the US reopened old bases in the area which wasn't cheap. China doesn't fight wars, they play mind games and they are patient. One day when the US is weak enough, Taiwan will be part of China without a single shot fired.

Nobody ever thought China was the US's friend, but Nixon changed them from enemies to just rivals and trading partners. Arguably, Reagan (surfing a tidal wave) did the same with the USSR. Those were improvements in international relations.

If you want to complain about jobs being outsourced, look at the WTO, which couldn't be bothered to demand workers' rights in participating countries. They could have said a minimum percentage of the mean income for the country and lifted every country out of poverty, but they didn't.
