Will the US and Israel eventually deploy ground troops into Iran?

Personally I think at a certain point they will. Because Iran seems to be too stubborn to accept the terms of surrender. So they need to send in actual troops to comb through and mop up the remaining Iranian resistance.

If they do, they'll get slaughtered like they did in Viet Nam and Afghanistan. The U. S. has no way to bring in much mechanization to support the troops like it did in Iraq. All it has is air power.
But Iran has good defenses that are strengthened by Russia and China. Iran has way more troops than all the combined branches of U. S. military. And troops from other countries are prepared to join in fighting U. S. forces.
Plus, Iran is huge and its topography is a natural defense.

If Trump decides to invade, it will be one of the greatest military disasters in U. S. history.

israel maybe. US probably not. and frankly israel won't if the US won't. Trump has about 60-days to even get a declaration of war to continue funding. putting boots on the ground would likely result in a Vietnam War type of issue only the battlefield would be much bigger, there would be far more enemies, the conditions would be brutal, and similar to vietnam be effectively endless

They will have special forces and some will likely not make it out. But full Iraq invasion, I hope they are wise enough not to get into that. There is no point.

If the goal is regime change in support of the revolt against the Theocracy in power, yes ground troops will be needed to give the opposition a chance to organize, arm them, train them, and support combat operations until the locals are ready to stand on their own. Think decades, not months.

I think it is a line that Trump will not cross. It will hurt him politically at a time when he needs the support of the American people. I do not know what the Israelis will do. They might send in some special forces to clean up the leftover regime.

They don't want to lose troops.
They can choose various locations and carry out surprise attacks.
Otherwise, they will suffer heavy losses in a ground war.
