Could the US realistically win a full-scale war against Iran?

Ever since World War II, the United States has not prevailed in a single conflict it has been engaged in. A lot of this has to do with arrogance and poor planning on the part of the US military. Now the US military is engaged in a war with Iran. I think it unlikely that the US will win based on history, but what do you think?

It's unlikely that a win is available here. Too much political pressure to end it before the death toll adds up and high gas prices is gifting the Democrats the midterms. Lying about no endless middle east wars was already bad. Gas goes up like a rocket and falls like a feather so the sooner it ends the better the chance gas prices fall to an acceptable level by Nov. The Dow is down 5% in March as retail investors are starting to pull money out to cover living expenses. This unpopular war is not helping Republicans up for reelection.

Its one thing to beat a military, it's something else to achieve some goal like stability without destabilizing other areas or making it a global expensive mess.

The US doesn't fight wars regionally but strategically. They fight like the Roman empire did where wars aren't relegated to a single battle but fought over years and decades to get a desired result. Wars are fought on many battlefields and often begun long before a soldier, Marine, air man, sailor ever sees a battlefield.

Us military budget is one trillion. Iran's military budget 15 billion. Irans population is 93 million. America has around 350 million. America has not followed total war. Total war is much different than war with rules of engagement. That comes down to over a 6500% higher military budget and more than 300% higher population

Bullshit. The US lost the war in Iraq. The Iraqis will have nothing to do with the U. S. now and for the foreseeable future. They got rid of the guy that was running Iraq, but actually the US didn't do that. The Iraqis did that. They would have done it anyway.

Now, the definition of winning World War II is that the Allies occupied Germany and France and all of the countries that the Germans had taken over. The U. S. has not occupied Iraq and has not taken over Iraq or Afghanistan. We got kicked out of Afghanistan by the Taliban.

Except we knew the vietcong could fight back. They were feared,, and while they had old weapons, they were still effective. Iran lost several leaders in a row, lost its nuclear infrastructure, its missiles keep getting destroyed and its soldiers keep getting killed. They're outclassed.
