Why does the ICE job application seem so hypocritical about past drug use?

just for shits and grins i wanted to see how far i could make it through the ICE application process. i think they want you to lie. i failed a drug question, so i failed step 1.

I guess that FBI background check ends with the online questionnaire and they just take your word for it. Because most of the thugs they are hiring for ICE are US military rejects and MAGA members who supported the Jan 6th attempted overthrow of the US government. But at least they haven't defaulted on a student loan.

When I had my physical for the Air Force I was asked if I ever used drugs. I told the doctor that aspirin was a drug and so was alcohol. So he specified illegal drugs like pot and acid. Then he told me that drugs leave a permanent marker so a blood test would show I was lying. It turns out the doc was the liar

well the job was for something specific and i don't remember. but i looked into it and it was just a way to get people to apply for ICE without knowing it.
