Across the political spectrum, there's a growing number of people in the UK who believe the state visit to the USA should be cancelled out of safety concerns for the King. There is a widespread belief that Trump is planning to ambush the King and humiliate him as he has done so many times before with world leaders. There's also concern that a state visit would be seen as grovelling to a man who's constantly insulted the UK and pushed living costs up for many.
Others say at a time Trump is dragging the world into WW3, a little soft diplomacy from the King could be beneficial. Cancelling the visit would be seen as humiliating for Trump and would make our situation worse, perhaps even resulting in military strikes against the UK.
So what do you think? Time to stand up to a tyrant or appease the crocodile and hope you get eaten last?

Can't think of one single benefit to the King visiting Trump. As noted he could be ambushed and harangued if Trump is having a bad day digestion-wise, but at the least Diaper Man will find some reason to crow and claim dominance... include something intended to embarrass in some near future rambling perhaps. This is much like there being no good reason for the sane individual to engage with MAGAts in general. There can't really be a productive outcome.
As an American Conservative I will give my perspective on the King. First, we don’t think of him at all. If he cancels the trip, we truly don’t care and didn’t really know that he was coming.
There will be no humiliation of Trump, even the far Left won’t make much of it because the King is a not viewed as a key world leader.
The King is viewed more as an ornament on the British government. He simply provides some headlines for magazines like “People”. William may be able to steer the Crown back to more respectable days such as when the Queen came to visit but even she wasn’t viewed as a very powerful world leader.
I remember telling a British friend from London that the Queen was more like Micky Mouse. She provided a spectacle for people to watch when they went to the UK or London as she and her grand houses were a tourist attraction that earned revenue for the country. He was a bit miffed by that comparison.
It's not my king so I don't care much but a king shouldn't shake hands of pedo cannibals. Security reasons is a good reason to say them in polite way to fu.. off

Trump followed through on his recent visit to the UK, to meet with King Charles III and Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Protocol dictates that the King should reciprocate and visit the US.
My only concern would be the King's health, but even in that case, rather than cancel the visit, Prince William and Princess Catherine should visit instead. That might be a good idea anyway, to facilitate the upcoming transfer of power.
No, the US doesn’t need incompetent or out right malicious allies, it’s better for the UK to give up it’s pretense. Not for the UK of course, but for the nation they love Piggybacking off of while Simultaneously insulting with almost every opportunity they have.

So let me get this straight... a leader that constantly denigrates your country and declares economic war against you and calls your soldiers cowards is worthy of a state visit by your King? King Charles is still the Head of State ( ceremonial) for Canada and I know Canadians would not approve.

The King should not be subjected to Trump's rudeness and ill manners. We all know that Trump is going to play his usual games with the King, and the King is not going to like this one bit, nor will the British public. It will be better for everyone if the King doesn't visit.
England is sat on good coal and the North Sea is over oil... If our energy bills are going up because of something happening outside of our borders, that's our own fault for not making use of the resources we have.
