I'm a Deist though, so I don't pastor any church and will never do that. I don't believe in collecting tithe or offerings from people, because that's what abusive religious hypocrites do with themselves. If you want to give to poor people, do it directly, don't trust a religious organization with your money.

@loveslongnails I actually have read multiple entire volumes of Bible commentary by leading experts. No I'm not fluent in Hebrew, although I do know a few thousand words in Greek. I happen to own a Strong's exhaustive concordance and know how to use it.

I follow Jewish Rabbis online and in person at times, and I've spent much of my life trying to decipher which stories in the Bible are fact vs which ones are fictional. It's a very important topic to me. I used to spend a lot of time online debating doctrine and ontology with other people of Deistic or Jewish or Christian persuasions.

And yes, I've actually read original manuscripts for some Bible passages, including one of the oldest surviving manuscripts of Psalms. Psalm 23 is poorly translated to English by the way.
