$100,000 each for 50 millions black Americans is $5 trillion. That is possible. Reducing the defense budget from $1.5 to $1 Trillion could pay $5 trillion in only ten years.
u Paying reparations is wrong on SO many different levels.
1. I have never owned slaves. The idea that I benefitted because my ancestors owned slaves is ludicrous. My mother grew up in a log cabin in the woods, and my father grew up in a working class neighborhood on the outskirts of Boston. Where's that advantage?
2. Who pays the reparations? All white taxpayers? Does that include those whose families emigrated after 1865? What if they can prove that none of their ancestors ever owned slaves? There were black slaveowners in America; should all of their descendants pay reparations instead of receiving them?
3. Who receives the reparations? Only those who can prove that their ancestors were slaves? DO blacks who emigrated to the US after 1865 receive reparations?
4. Do mixed race taxpayers both pay and receive reparations?
5. When the first round of reparations is paid and many people blow though that money very quickly, will there be a second demand for more reparations? When will it ever be enough?
6. The concept of reparations has no logical basis. If I can prove that YOUR great-grandfather stole MY grandfather's 1939 Buick, and your great-grandfather never paid for the crime, does that mean you should pay me for the cost of that car.
7. Reparations is really about a play for power, fueled by white liberals who want to stay on their knees apologizing for the rest of their lives.

100K is only enough for a family to live a few years. And if someone has no education on how to spend some and invest most, it could disappear overnight.
What would need to happen would be to offer some kind of base payment, college scholarships, job instruction for jobs that pay well such as plumbing, electrician, construction, HVAC, hospitality (chef school), and economic instruction on how to manage a home and/or business.
The actual amount owed with the proposed but never enacted "40 acres and a mule" would bankrupt America and is not feasible. But education and instruction would be invaluable. Making grammar and high schools for everyone to do well. Many inner city schools are racially segregated and do not have the same per student amounts as suburban schools where better educated, higher earning parents live. Equity, as much as is possible and affordable would be better.
Think of lottery winners. Money alone does not solve poverty or lack of generational wealth. The fact of the matter is the word: "generational." That's how people started out doing better, and it took several lifetimes to secure and maintain such wealth.
Black people owe White people, Hispanics, and Asians.
1. For all the affirmative action bs where they unfairly stole jobs from other people.
2. They used up tax dollars to go to college that they didn't qualify for by entrance exams and failed out because they didn't belong there in the first place. It should be based on merit, not bs preferential treatment just for being born Black.
3. With Black people committing so much crime, they owe reparations to all the other groups in the USA, and they owe billions in damages and theft to many of the businesses in the USA too.
I just want to point out that it wouldn’t be nearly as economically easy as you think. First, the defense budget is not 1.5 trillion. It’s about 60% of that. So you’re probably looking closer to eight or 9 trillion we would have to borrow or come up with somehow. And the sad thing is we can’t balance the budget right now, let alone adding another 10 trillion to it. Would it help? Of course, money isn’t always the answer, but it sure helps to find out what it is. I’m not really making a statement on whether or not it should be done on simply saying that we’re in such a mess right now I economically. I’m not sure it’s realistic.

I am sure it would make a difference for some of them in the long term. But what is a $100,000 ? In the long term it may be life changing for form - if the save , if they invest in some mutual funds or maybe the S& P 500. But this requires:
- being able to read at a more advanced level
- having a basic understanding of how investments work
- have impulse control and delayed gratification.
A huge chunk of Blacks in the US are poor as dirt. Have you ever seen those videos about those poor white trash folks that win the lotto? Lots or parties, lots of gold and diamonds, expensive cars, big houses, bags of cash to the strip clubs and in five years... they are broke as fuck again.
I am sure there will be some exceptions but most of the poor blacks will blow it all in a few short months and then they will be broke again.

With the the aid many "Black" people has gotten from the government you can saythat reparations have already been paid TBH.. Many get all types of free service even when they are working.. Not to mention they would have to get reparations from some "Black" people as well since a decent sized minority owned slaves.. They couldn't get it from most "White" people since most ancestors today came on boats in the early 1900s.
My ancestors came from Germany in the 1870s. They didn't own any slaves. In fact, some of them were indentured workers to farmers when they arrived.
