Should US women in the military be removed from frontline combat roles?

Have you personally met a female soldier that has been in the thick of it? I have... Reality is, those sitting on the front lines... ... be it on the border with  North Korea ... or in the hot war in  Iran are in harms way moreso than ever. Many women were killed, injured and damaged for life in the Iraq/Afghanistan war.  A society that puts their women out front in harms way is... questionable isn't it? We know what war is... those women captured or in close combat will suffer immeasurably. Should women really be fighting given the risks are so high?  ...

personaly don't think so. modern warfare isn't like back in the day with hand to hand combat or with swords, where women where definitely not qualified to fight in for obvious reasons. but now all combat is using guns, bombs, tanks, drones, etc, with no close contact with the enemy. so now strong headed women can perform just as well as men in combat roles. i don't see why adult women deserve to be protected from harm above men either in general, it's chivalrous but i don't think a women's life more sacred than a man's life. the risks are the same in the military for both genders, the enemy doesn't care about gender when they shoot at soldiers. if captured, they risk the torture, abuse and death all the same. rape is just a feminine variant of torture.

Hot take, but I don't think we should have a standing military with combat roles At all. And if we ever get invaded by Mexico or wherever I think everyone with a pulse should just fire guns at the invader. That's the whole reason we have the second amendment.

Women want equality. OK. They deserve the right to choose IMHO. The US is currently an all volunteer military force. There is no draft. Anyone who joins the military and seeks out a combat or combat support role should have some clue about the risks and potential consequences. Reality slaps guys hard all the time. Why should women be different? War is not a Hollywood movie full of guts and glory. It's a physically and mentally tough grind with lot's of boredom punctuated by moments of sheer terror and an aftermath that never ends. Some people can cope with that. Some people cannot.

I for one think there are some women who want to do the job and do it as well as any man.

Just look at female athletes. Also not all women are built equally - some are big, broad and made for a lifestyle as good as any strong man's

Women should not have physical roles in society. When I call I cop, I don't want to see women coming to arrest someone. When I call 911 for a fire, I don't want women coming to save me. And I don't want women fighting for the country.

Women get bodied by men in almost every physical category, other than flexibility. It's a matter of biology. If they could perform the same as men physically, I'd have no issue with it. But they don't.

There's a reason why trans win most sports competitions in womens events. It's an unfair biological difference.

Women need to accept that. There were strength competitions of midget men against bodybuilder women and the midgets won. There are competitions of skinny guys vs bodybuilder women and the skinny guys won.

We're literally built different.

This question reminds me of an female co-worker who, at the time, was also a platoon sergeant in the National Guard. She was telling us that one time when they were out picking up their weapons for live fire training she made sure everyone got theirs and got back on the bus they were traveling in. We she got on, last, she stood in the front of the bus and stated "I have PMS and a M-16. Any questions?" No one did.

But so were men, many men were damaged as well. It would be unfair to give someone privilege or limit their choices just because of their gender. What the actual problem is existence of war and thus harm of humanity, something as serious as war shouldn't take happen at the first place.

I believe so, yes. I know the feminist community will disagree with this, but men are largely the builders and protectors of civilization. That's not to say women have no place in the military- because I absolutely believe they do, but front lines combat is not something I would consider them fit for.
