Why is it ok for the US to attack other countries first without geting attacked first?

Question

The only two justifiable wars was WWII after Japan attacked first and after the Sept 11 attacks. Fair. US got attacked and so retaliated.

Besides that, USA has a history of striking attacks at other countries without getting attacked first. In the Mexican war of 1846, the US was the aggressor and it was to expand territory aka the Manifest Destiny; literally invading.

The U. S. has landed troops in countries like Haiti, Nicaragua, and Cuba without being attacked first. Then in Panama (1989) they launched an attack to arrest Manuel Noriega, not in response to a direct attack. Why is it ok for the US to attack first but expect the countries to never retaliate but if they're attacked first, they tend to retaliate a lot worse?

the issue is we are the worlds power and reserve currency. Every other country in that position I suspect if you check, attacked others.

The issue in Iran... which wasn't an issue... is nukes and ability to deliver them and thus control others, if not wipe them out. NK has that ability... nukes and can deliver them to the USA or Japan. That's a problem not talked about right now. So we all sit around and hope theywon't do something stupid or make a mistake... that KJU won't have a bad nights sleep. That's the problem.

It is hard for governments to provide security... so they attack first.

We have like...800 military bases, we are broke with a huge military and declining social order.

We have big problems. Problems globally getting worse. You are a nice person, prepare yourself for the worst, hope for the best, be wise, get educated about what is going on.

Prior wars and conflicts only impacted a small fraction of people. But ya sure didn't want to be one of them and it's always/usually a total waste of life.

You mean neighbors nearby? U. S.  didn't  attacked neighbors Canada nor MEXICO. 2, Recently #venezuela but that was not to steal land so it was okay. SAME as PANAMA you mentioned. 3, Kuwait we didn't get attacked but we helped the  victim  Kuwait, so it is good and same Korea Vietnam and more. 4. You didn't say "iran" because you wouldn't stand with terrorists. But i will mention: iran  did attack u. s. Us first  on February 6 tried to disturb shipping and worse in 2023 in picture

It’s the “My Gun is Bigger” rule

The US has more nuclear warheads than most other nations. The US also has more foreign military bases than most other nations. This means veritable armies of american-based, american-loyal soldiers are deposited on foreign soil of their “allies” and especially so if those allied nations border non-ally nations. In some cases, the US has a greater military presence than the nation their base is occupying.

With this in mind, America is not shy about letting their allies know that they have immense military power that they will happily use to their advantage if the need arises. And yeah, there are those who don’t agree with this, and who see these tactics as a form of domination and bullying (rightly so in my opinion) but the US has more guns. Like… a lot more. We have more guns than people within our own borders, how much do you think that changes overseas, especially near those same American military bases? Are you REALLY going to pick a fight you know you won’t win?

I’m not saying it’s ok for our country to attack other countries just for the hell of it. But I think most countries know they would have to be insane to attack us first. There would be a massive onslaught. Even if by miracle ground troops made it onto US soil, you know how many people own guns? How many people are veterans. Trust me there’d be a lot of veterans just waiting for something to jump off.

It's never okay for the US to do it, but it does it anyway because there is nobody to stop it. It's also nobody to punish it after the fact. The United States is the world's bully.

I think Gulf War 1 was justified... and successful. Bush built a coalition... had UN support with a simple objective. Once the objective was achieve the war ended.
