Why is the defense strategy for so many countries to just have the US army to protect them?

Because it works. The way things are going, eventually we're going to get a President who starts taking territory as a payment- and nothing good is going to come from that.

Well, beyond the satisfaction of seeing their faces. I'd be lying if I said I won't enjoy that.

No one can replace the U. S. China is in deep, deep decline (I know it hurts the left when I say that) and the EU is also having it's problems. These are countries with SIGNIFICANTLY more population but yet are light years behind the US militarily and economically. Again, something that pains the left to hear.

Because most countries know that the US will leap to their defense, not because the US has any sympathy for them. But because the US economic system depends on constant expansion in order to support capitalists. War turns out to be a really good way to make money for those people and they do so without restraint of any sort. Capitalism in this sense is like a cancer in that it needs to keep growing and expanding in order to just survive.

I love Hong Kong and Singapore. They are like some of the richest countries in Asia. I would love to move to them, But because they have 0 army and don't try to make one, China just walks in and sets the rules.
