No, that's stupid. Our national parks did that and some people sued them, arguing government businesses MUST accept legal currency. My dad said the parks won though. I personally HATE it, because at my old job the machine would sometimes malfunction or we would have a blackout and if the person didn't have cash, they were screwed. But cash, you can always process. It also drove me mad when people would use card for $2.50 or even $5 transactions. I'd personally like to see less cards and more cash.

My buddy bought something at a festival and he just put his card up to the lady's phone and it charged it. At my work, I didn't even have to slide the card. Sometimes the reader would malfunction, and the people would have to check online to see if they're transactions went through. Other times their card would get blocked for multiple identical transactions. Only good thing is I didn't have to give them change. But at my old job, I always had problem with cards, but with cash. the worst is I might miscount change. But cards were a pain in the ass to deal with.

VERY VERY BAD IDEA. The moment cash disappears, banks gain ABSOLUTE power over your money.

With cash still being legal tender and you having it, you cannot be locked out of that money. Plus electronics mess up all the time and I've had times where my bank messed something up and I didn't have access to the funds in the account for WEEKS. What saved me was good old cash.

Also, if cash is abolished, banks can decide their own rules for what purchases THEY think is acceptable or unacceptable and can change their rules without notice. If you buy something that bank deems inappropriate (for example buying from a gun store while using a bank card with a bank ran by a liberal), they can lock you from accessing funds indefinitely. Laws prohibiting this practice would mean little to them, both because governments usually do not oppose banks and because they can make up technical issues that you would not be able to challenge.

Fuck no, we need cash to keep the dollar value relatively high. If we remove cash entirely it would be so painfully easy to make the dollar worthless

Weed is still a federal crime technically. How would I buy my illegal guns or pay illegal alien hookers for sex... expecially when they're underaged? These people who claim to "care" about the poor and the homeless and illegal immigrants, when you get rid of cash, you are getting rid of their way to buy anything, so you're cutting 70% of people out of the economy. They can't buy food. They can't buy a subway card. They can't buy clothes from a thrift store. Getting rid of cash only serves politicians and the wealthy.

Poor people and even many people in the "middle class" (the working poor) can't get credit cards, they can't even get bank accounts. When you walk into a bank nowadays they have facial recognition that tells them whether they want you as a customer or not before you even talk to someone. Poor people can't get past that, and they don't have the credentials to get an account even if they were allowed to apply.

No never. In fact cards should be done away with. Cash is real you have it in your pocket. Cards are controlled by banks or governments. They can control what you buy and when or if you get to buy at all. We have to make sure this never happens.

200 years to stop the continuation of the penny. Let's see how long it takes to get rid of the nickel and dime. Good bet they happen at the same time. quarters are still useful but dimes can't make a quarter but could make half dollars easy enough to justify keeping them.

We should replace unsupported folding money with nickel silver coins actual value up to $100 and then silver and gold alloy certificate paper money thereafter but redeemable for physical coins. Among other benefits, we could no longer arbitrarily print money for "quantitative easing", AKA inflation.
