The Left tried no borders in Australia. Back then we didn't know what they were doing. But it became obvious in time. While compassionate to true refugees the people didn't like economic "refugees" who were queue jumping.

well said. your idea explained the 1924 National Origins quotas. even in 1933 when jews were in danger i mean real refugees , america lacked refugee welcome. even a REAL refugee could not come unless applied in "quota for germany." not "all are welcome".
