I have this best friend. she's somewhat younger than me, Early Thirties. She recently announced that she got married. Personally i am overjoyed. As someone who fumbled her husband quite spectacularly i am very happy when my friends find happiness. She is choosing to settle down, she wants kids, she wants to stay at home to raise them. Her future husband is happy with that. Before i comment further, he never once told her that she HAD to be a SAHM, It was her idea, and he said he would support her no matter her decision. Good man right?
Well she's considering calling it off because she has "Friends" (in quotes because they really aren't), who have said they will disown her, and cut contact if she "Betrays the sisterhood" like that, Some have called her a traitor.
I am a feminist my self, and i have always believed that feminism was about choice, and choosing to be a housewife and a mother, while not for everyone, is a viable choice. I see no issues with it.
Why do some choose to shame, and alienate a woman who chose what she wanted in life.
