I know several places where it would be hard to find me except that if the cops asked the right people about me they would lead them right to me. I think it would be better to go someplace where I have never been before and have no connection to.

The big thing is , where not to go. You would think big crowds might work in your favor, but I'm not so sure about that under certain circumstances. Transportation hubs such as airports etc., major retailers and malls, sports and entertainment venues... all potentially heavy with facial recognition tech.
Some cities have supposedly "banned" the use of facial recognition, some to more restrictive degrees than others. I'd try to find out where those places are, learn as much as possible about what the law can and cannot do in specific places of interest, choose one with a healthy population (also a plus, new people showing up in cities is not odd)... lots of homework to be done if one were serious. And this beyond the dangers of known phone numbers, credit card use, online activity. Really hard to disappear in this modern time.

I've had to hide... I hid in somebodies shed and ther was an ax in there. Cop walked right past us but the guy hiding with me was crying and asking me to put down the ax. No bullshit, he tried to play it off like I was the one being a bitch the next day in school. ... only plus side is he never ditched with me again. Latin America in general, probably some cartel-aligned neighbourhood in Medellin, Colombia. Yes, the chances of dying at the hands of the cartels are kind of high, but no police force led by anyone with a single trace of self-preservation instinct would go there just to look for me. And if I can make myself useful for the cartels (which is actually kind of likely), I might even survive. Oh, and since it's almost certain I would be on the run from the police for the abominable crime of looking in some rotten Western woman's general direction for more than 0.1s (or something along these lines), I might actually stick it to the authorities by actually finding a girlfriend (who would become my wife in the future) in such a neighbourhood!

Depends on why i’m hiding and how long i need to stay hidden. Short term, i’d just move to a new spot under an assumed name and stop going to my usual hangouts. Long term, I’d have to go back north or leave the state. I kind of stick out in central and southern California. Ell oh ell! I have places i could go to completely avoid the grid. Even if my family told them where to look, it would require a massive coordinated manhunt to track me down. I’m not prepared to do that on the fly though. I haven’t had a scramble kit in years and my survival skills are rusty. Ell oh ell!
