Unfortunately these types of videos are very common on YouTube and it’s misleading people.
It’s seems like a lot of people aren’t even aware they are being mislead.

They used that term to debunk memes so make of that what you will.

This was a cheap fake for example :

Which I find really funny since its clearly a prank, they don't even remotely try to make it look real.

But what they really meant is that its videos deliberately edited to paint a false picture, without being AI generated.

That video with Biden and the ice cream truck looks AI generated so I don’t think that would count as a cheapfake if it is AI generated.

Its not AI generated at all, its just plain old video editing manually. Which is where the cheap comes from.

It is a real video that PR people want you to think are fake or misleading; however, usually PR people want to mislead you into thinking that. So if you want to find out the full context, you can; but most won't.

After Trump kicked his ass in the debate, the same left-wing media said they were not cheap fakes, they were real.
