I told my wife that many years ago before we married. I had come back to our place after work and noticed that it was a big relief -- relaxed, no stress or strife. I told her "This is the first home I've ever had"

Home is where the heart is. What happens if you are in the hospital awaiting a heart transplant? If home is where the heart is people awaiting a heart transplant would stay home & have a surgeon do a house call.

If home is where the heart is my heart must be in the refrigerator because I’m getting hungry & the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.

I’ll try to think of some more after I eat of course.

No. We have a word here that doesn't really translate into English, Cynefin. It kinda means a place you feel is your right habitat, where deep down you feel you spiritually and physically belong there. A home can just be a shelter, a place you eat and sleep, your heart could be by the on the beach or in a bustling city.

I'm gonna say no only for one reason. It doesn't matter if you feel in your heart that somewhere is your home. What matters is who actually owns the property. It doesn't matter if you were living in a house for 50 years and you feel in your heart it's your home. As soon as you stop paying the bills, it isn't yours. That's just the way things are, and yes you can be upset with the government about it, but that's how things are maintained currently. Can't just squat wherever you feel like squatting

Yeah pretty much. Or in my case, home is wherever I'm living at the moment. I've lived since birth in short terms in so many places that I have trouble identifying any one place as "Home". Even when I landed in my current place (15 years) in my mid 40's I was traveling constantly to visit the roughly 25 companies we owned at any given moment. And I really have no connection with this pace other than my job. Some of us are just economic nomads. 😂
