I've reduced gossip to something that is low tier politics. I'm going to make a comparison but please don't take me as some Migger with this anology... It's just a comparison.

The loaded TDS anti-Trump questions on this site. The goal... they just don't want you to like Trump. The action... constantly rag on the guy in all sorts of ways... which is fine in my opinion, it's just when they start making shit up, then it's just a bit extreme.

Now compare that to girl x and girl y, gassing each other up about girl z. Girl z is just Trump in this scenario. They hate her... feel threatend, steals their potential men all the time... and they do the same shit as the comparison from here on out.

I'm going to say girls do it more... because guys usually don't give a fuck unless they're really butt hurt, and even then they'll probably jump to stright up war before they just resort to the gossip... or the gossip is short lived and it's stright to the fist fight.

Feel free to edit my comparison where you see it differently because my logic on this isn't set in stone.

Well I like gossip because its entertaining. I watch a few tea YouTube channels me and my friends have a tea group chat. It's fun to here what's going on, it can be funny and I like to speculate. You also feel better about yourself because you see that other people have problems too. I think gossip gets a bad rep because people will judge an entire person on a rumor, people will get petty and they will always assume the worst. I think you can have gossip without that.

I know guys do gossip, my husband tells me about the tea at work sometimes, but I feel like they gossip less.

*usually* my go-to thoughts on these kinda things are that it is silly to make them about gender when it's an individual's personality and either gender are equally capable of it

However, I would concede that the types of things that fall under the category of "gossip" are things that women are probably more likely than men to care about discussing with other people

I’ve said this prior, but I feel it is worth repeating: Men can be as dramatic or sensitive as women, especially when it comes to our anger and needing to vent. We complain a lot (sometimes more than, or equal to the ladies). Now, we love gossip because it makes us feel we are important and savvy to get information that no one knows about then sharing upon our peers to get boosted validation. Same reason we have influencers and such (yes I’m technically an influencer on here even though I don’t see myself as one @bobalife thanks for the reminder lmao).

My view is, it doesn’t matter who gossips more, we should strive to get our facts straight before spreading around false information around to snowball and ruin reputations, credibility. And we should hold accountable those that spread the false information too, not get fooled again.

I'll just say this... there's these six ladies on my street, around my street... they're known as The Double Triad... and somehow... these ladies know things "about me" before I know about it and that's just how great they are at socializing there's also their husbands... who have known me for as long, or even longer... and they're still asking things like "so... what do you do for a living, do you even work, son?"

Nope not a gossiper. And I'm gonna say it's a female thing more than male thing. But that may be a personal bias of mine. I really have no idea.

I will say that some of my guy friends do spill their guts about their romantic adventures with women in our social circle or stories they've heard second hand about those women and I wish they wouldn't. It comes off as juvenile and I don't know if insecure is the right word but just cringe worthy. I don't need to know that stuff.

As for myself, I'm a sealed vault in general about my private life but even more so when it comes to private or romantic relations with a woman. I feel zero need to share and I see no reason anyone else needs that information. Good, bad, or indifferent. Privacy is one of my major boundaries.

As for me, I don’t share gossip around.
But I do enjoy gathering it in certain places.

For instance at work, good gossip could turn into important info about how to handle your colleagues, subordinates, and superiors

I have personally witnessed equal amounts of gossip from both men and women. I think women like to bring it up and spread it but guys live to hear "juicy" info just as much, they are just less likely to spread it over and over unless it personally is of interest to them.

Women are the biggest gossips.

Why? For the same reason women choose the men they do. Which sounds more interesting to you? " i have a fully funded IRA". Or, "i climbed mount everest"? Anything that gets a woman's feelings heightened is a green flag to them. So women will gossip because it gets her blood pumping. Men are this way to, just not to the extent women are.
