f you bother to bother to consult AI and not CNNMSDNCPBS,, you will learn there is not one example of a successful large scale socialist society. Scandinavia? It has the same population as Florida and operates on a big government welfare state template. Is that what you want?

Socialist states like China, the USSR, Nazi Germany, Theocratic Iran and North Korea have tried it and rely on dictatorship, enslavement, torture, death, destruction, starvation and oppression. Nobody wants to give up their careers and possessions to big government. They want somebody else to be forced to do that.

Those of you who fantasize about socialism want it to apply to somebody else. This is what your adored Democrat party wants. Other than hating Trump and his voters, they have no coherent domestic or foreign policy other than resistance. If you vote Democrat in the midterms that is what you are voting for.

Okay, while I generally agree with Your take on socialism, You still managed to self-own in an epic way. Namely, You brought up two countries that are anything but socialist and one of which is highly successful, while the second one seems to hold its own against the world's most celebrated superpower for over a month now.

One of those countries is obviously Iran. You even literally mentioned that it is theocratic and proceeded to act like it's a socialist country. Please have someone proof-read Your takes, pretty please... Also, as a Catholic... You know, I do submit to God Almighty (and only to God Almighty). Therefore, theocracy does sound kind of like heaven on earth to me, You know? Sure, with Iran, it's Islam and not Christianity, but the general idea of only submitting to God Almighty is incredibly enticing. In fact, I do my best to live by it, in a Catholic way.

And then... There's continental China. You know, that one country that started out dirt poor after being used as a proxy in the US war against Japan during the Second World War and is now one of the two world powers the USA is wary of. Now... Just to be clear, it is not socialist (or communist). While it retains the name of People's Republic of China, and the ruling party is still called the Chinese Communist Party, it is very much capitalist in practice, just look at their private enterprises competing with American companies - and that is because You literally cannot achieve the status of world power under actual communism. The only reason the USSR made it was due to nuclear espionage they succeeded in while the borderline communist F. D. Roosevelt was the President of the United States of America. They could then wave these nukes before anyone trying to bring them down, while also focusing on their military power while flushing pretty much all other industries down the drain, and even then they fell apart in the end.

So... Really... Get better. You made a simple, yet obviously correct statement against socialism in general and You still managed to ruin it by giving examples of successful countries that have nothing to do with socialism. Like... Honestly... You tell me what happens in Iran is socialism? "Waiter, more socialism, please! Pronto! Just make it the Catholic flavour!" You tell me what happens in continental China is socialism? "Waiter, more socialism, please! Pronto! Just give it an actual monarch instead of a lame ass-sounding 'General Secretary'!" Only thing is neither of those countries is socialist. Get Your facts right, pretty please...

it's always a good idea to have some level of socialism cause the invisible hand of the market will always and reliably conentrate all money in few peoples hands. if you have no way of balancing that in your society, it'll crash. no two ways about it. pure capitalism and pure socialism both can't exist by themself.

Venezuela is the best example of a prosperous country that was run into the ground by Socialism. Cuba is a failed state once the Soviet Union broke up. We need everyone to get out and vote down democrats or else the country could be lost.

I mean... Cuba might be a puny country, but it is still standing while located next to the world superpower and conflicted with it. Their former leader has also escaped countless assassination attempts by the CIA... While nowhere near a truly successful country, Cuba is literally the worst example of why communism does not work. Though this is admittedly due to the fact that food literally grows on trees in Cuba and the climate there is warm, so one does not really need a house or enough money for food there.
