Back in 1968 if you threatened police it was a sure bet that you would be getting a good beatdown and some time in the slammer.

ICE is literally shooting people to death, they were beating protesters in NJ just the other day, they attacked Democratic politicians trying to exercise their legal right to inspect federal facilities, and the ICE camps are literally concentration camps.
Your idea of the "good old days" seems to be 1940 Germany.

"Not even a year in, there already have been three reported deaths at Camp East Montana. In one case, a man was beaten to death after asking for his asthma medication—a death the Medical Examiner later ruled a homicide. A fourth man died shortly after being released from Camp East Montana, where he had been denied the chemotherapy that he needed to treat his cancer"
"People held at Camp East Montana are in civil detention, not serving criminal sentences. In fact, the majority of people detained at Camp East Montana have no criminal background whatsoever. As of April 2026, approximately 80% of people detained there had no criminal histories. Even those with past criminal histories—the majority of which are for nonviolent offenses—have already served their time and are not detained at Camp East Montana under a criminal sentence."
What happens if you threaten them today?
they can't hit him anymore. only if resist arrest.
I used ot sell polycarbonate nightsticks. I sold a lot of them to the cops. I knew a guy they called Rick the Stick and not because he was skinny. Things were different.
Now the cop gets fired and loses their pension and maybe jail time. No wonder nobody wants to be a cop anymore.
I got robbed from walking in the hood by a black man
my friends were playing a joke on me after we got out from the nightclub and I wasn’t in the mood with their jokes as they were running to the car to leave me behind on purpose I know they were joking, but I still wasn’t in the mood so I started walking another way a black teenager he threatened to shoot me and I was surrounded by many of his friends and this black cop was driving through the area about 10 minutes later and he help me get the guy and we went on a two hour chase and they had the police dogs out and they finally got him and I busted him in court and he was found guilty of robbery he got my $75 wallet from Italy, but he only got three dollars out but he never repayed it as the judge ordered for the expensive, wallet many years ago. But he was found guilty and that’s added to his record and he had a rap cheat as long as his arm
I heard New York used to have a lot of crime and the subways were dangerous but when Giuliani became the leader, he hired police officers to severely beat and torture criminals who made problems on the New York subway, and that is why the New York subways are no longer dangerous for most visitors now. In China crime is low, because if you rape or kill somebody or steal large amounts of money, it is an immediate death sentence by bullets. There is no time wasted in jail, you get shot and killed right away.
Don't know about China but police in America don't torture criminals. Beatings you get from the police here are from fighting with them.
You’re asking on a site filled with social rejects. They will openly tell you this. They have Asperger's or other mental illnesses and they have so many opinions. The people from Europe that cry about Trump, have no real reasons for crying about Trump. The truth is they have no courage to criticize their own countries, so they have to criticize America.
What kind of a freak show would complain about a ballroom they will never see? Sick people.
You’ve concluded that anybody who doesn’t like Trump on here has Asperger’s? Lol
And you " concluded" that I concluded that. Next time ask and you won't look so stupid.

Some have sarcastically suggested that we have "too much" liberty. That attitude ignores a simple truth: if you choose to live in a society, receiving liberty means that you have an obligation to act responsibly towards your neighbors. In the current milieu, responsibility gets short shrift.
Why are you such a tool and a troll?
In 1968 in the USA, students were vehemently protesting the Vietnam "conflict". It wasn't a war, Exit. Only Congress can declare war, and Vietnam was a military action. As it turns out, history shows two things: 1) The US should never have been there, and 2) Once there, they were neve in it to win it.
Why #2 ? Because that's what the troops said about it. More than 58,220 US military personnel were killed in that conflict which accomplished what? Well, it kept the military complex fat and profitable. The North Korean regime took over the country anyway when Saigon fell and the US finally pulled out. So NOTHING was accomplished except profit for munitions industries at the expense of all those lives. Yet another case of the government feeding you bullshit.
So when you show a photo of a Nam protestor getting beaten, or cops in the south beating on civil rights marchers, I applaud them because THAT"S what real patriots did. You and your cult on the other hand, have done no good for anyone.
Good old days? My grandfather is currently in hospice care and has just started opening up about Vietnam despite me having been in the Marine Corps as well. These man went through hell. America accomplished nothing there as well lol. It’s widely considered the most useless war in US History. 1968 the civil rights movement was wrapping up, but most law enforcement agencies were still legitimately racist toward black people. I’m not talking about “racism” we see today. There was real racism and police were horrible. If you think having ego driven cops in their 20s beating others because you offended them is justice, then I don't know where your head is at. States like CA have disarmed justice, but that doesn’t mean we revert back to have a bunch of hot heads senselessly beating citizens in the name of the law. There were some redeeming events in that era, but you’re focusing on the opposite lol.
I don’t think they should be able to beat you for verbal harassment and perceived threats. But if you actually attack a cop, they should be able to beat you mercilessly until you lose consciousness or run away. Especially now that we have body cameras. Back in the day, a rogue cop could kill you and claim you were a threat. Now it’s rare for cops to not have BWCs and/or dash cams recording their every move. It’s definitely changed the way most people perceive claims of police brutality. If it hasn’t, then those people have chosen ignorance.
When I was little, a police officer visited the school a couple times a year, talking about safety, bicycle safety in particular. It was a good way to get to know and trust the police.
My kids never had informal police visits like that when they were in school. And today, the only time a police officer enters a school is when there's a shooting. With the media denigrating the police, it's no wonder that today's youth and younger people don't trust the police.
Indeed. Back then, you were shot dead by the national guard for protesting the Vietnam war on a college campus.
Nowadays, the most contemptible dumbasses amongst us are able to riot, attack law enforcement officers and trash the capitol in the name of a pedophile's lies: they won't get mowed down by machine gun like they deserve.
It what happens when government is soft on crime and criminals, people take advantage.
People respond to strict and strong governments that establish law and order and those that refuse will get their asses kick real bad to teach them a lesson.
I do miss the good ole days and for so many reasons.
Back in 1968 if a police officer was pulling you over while you were driving, you had better pull over! No high speed chase unless on TV.
Now it can easily turn into a gun fight and someone can get shot and killed.
I remember when the cops used to chase criminals on foot for blocks and blocks - they don't do that anymore, they just shoot you to make you
stop. 🛑
back in 1968... they would have told you to shut up and go back to the kitchen, and your husband would have to apologize for you being hysterical and a shame.. .
would you have be alright with that as well? would it feel that good to you?
@NathanDavis
Where'd that come from? Maybe in your family but not in mine.
@NathanDavis. I was only 14 in 1968.
I know that police treated blacks and Latinos with brutality in the 1950s and '60s during the civil rights protests.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) reacted to the 1965 Watts riots with aggressive use of force, mass arrests, and a military-style occupation. Overwhelmed by the crowds, the LAPD requested backup from the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the Sheriff's Department, and ultimately the National Guard.
I heard about the police and National Guard massacres at South Carolina State College in 1968, the Kent State and Jackson State College massacres in 1970, and the Southern University massacre in 1972.
The government was reacting with violence against peaceful civil rights and anti-war protestors, but I never witnessed any of that personally.
From my own experiences, cops were fairly cool. They didn't even crack down hard on drunk driving or smoking weed back then. They weren't even up tight about guns. Then again, I was white and lived in a white neighborhood.
Cops weren't militarized yet and there weren't even any SWAT teams.
Some cops and police departments did become more aggressive over time. By the late 1970s, they were cracking down more and more on rock concert attendees for smoking weed.
Police and National Guard were out in force during the Rodney King riots in 1992. I witnessed some vandalism and looting personally, but law enforcement wasn't reacting with violence. I don't think they wanted to escalate the situation.
I opposed violence against peaceful protestors. But I am all in favor of cracking down hard on vandalism, looting, arson and violence.
It pisses me off when I see leftists getting away with that shit and being treated by Democrats as if they are exercising their civil rights. I would be okay if violent mobs got machine gunned.
Sorry for the interference but i have to say that what @NathanDavis said to @sage2021 was disrespectful, believe me that when you grow older, you won't be happy when the next generation make fun of you...
With all due respect, treating someone who is older than you is an act of self respect, besides the woman never attacked you or did say anything bad to you, i hope that you fix the wrong thing that you have done...
In Britain its no wonder migrants come here to rape & gang rape. No real consequences.
I mis the concept of responsibility. Since it was removed, since religion (to someone control the human selfishness and train the minds) was removed, and since fathers were removed by way of war and divorce changes...
we decay.
Yeah. Too much liberty. That's the problem! 🤦♀️
People come here for the country that we built and then complain about everything and change it so it can become a shithole. We need to clean house.
You can thank the AMERICA LAST DEMOCRATIC COMMUNIST PARTY OF AMERICA for that. Illegal aliens are cared for before our own vets, homeless and poor. GREAT JOB DEMOCRATIC PARTY.
If you threaten them at the U. S. Capitol, you get pardoned and a nice slush fund set up for you.
There is a lot of videos that show the capitol police acting as tour guides and there is footage of a shaky capitol police officer shooting an unarmed Air Force veteran who clearly had her hands up.
jail seems good. for that. especially now body cameras, but beating, i am glad we stopped.
I miss a simpler time when the world was more human and more connected. But i'm not sure there was ever a "good ol days". Just a time when the world made more sense. I don't know maybe every who gets older feels this to some degree.
Nope because ı did not lived at old days. I remember them. Thats impossible
