Was a jury member for just this kinda question in alaska. The landlord screaming and cussing at this guy. girlfriend was on the bed and the landlord touch the bed, girlfriend flinched and look at the boyfriend for help and bang. Landlord Shot dead.

Guy went to jail for talking to the police without a lawyer. The boomers in the jury cast guilty but I fought tooth and nail for that guy even being pretty anti gun myself.

So do whatever you need to do just don't say a word to the police without a lawyer.

Also the whole point of self defense as a legal defense is that you're on the back foot two steps behind the attacker. So you stand your ground without a pre determined plan and stand your ground.

And it does You real good, once the police arrives (if it even arrives in the first placr, since if a man is the one in danger, they might as well never come), You You will have already bled to death, and that's if You did not get shot in the head by the attacker, in which case the death is even more instant. By the way, the last time I called the police (non-emergency number), they arrived in ten minutes. I doubt that anyone would break though a metal door and a solid wooden door in less time.

Mr. Cloud, I don't know about your direct environment, but I refuse to live in fear. And I simply have no reason to. I have never heard gunshots or seen extreme violence in my life and I have lived in and around state capitals my whole life.

If the police decides that the person is a credible threat to others (or themselves), they will either arrest them or have them committed to a psych-ward. The next steps then are to be determined by a judge.

I am truly happy you can live like that, but not everyone is that lucky. I live in a good neighborhood, and every once in a while, we are raided by some unsavory people. Shit happens. But where I live, they are met with people who take care of their place of living and protect our families and personal domiciles. Violence is met with violence. Here in NYC, the Communist Mayor is defunding the police and cashless bail [ NO MONEY]. Criminals are back on the street before the cops finish their paperwork. I certainly sympathize with you, but I'm wondering why you not just invest the money in a secure door and sleep soundly, knowing that the potential raids are over?

As I said before, Do not hold your breath that your door cannot be breached by force while you sleep. I have seen all sorts of armoured doors breached in my work. But sleep in the knowledge that you have a stout door and lock, and it can't be breached.

Do you walk around with a recorder on you? And I know phones have recorders in them. Pull the phone out, turn it on, find the record app, and you're dead if he is not kidding. I wish you the best of luck with that scenario.
