What can you say to a person who threatens to end with her life?

My dear cousin she has had a tough life. Her parents abandoned her, she married a man who hits her, her son is on drugs and recently in jail. She doesn't find a reason to live and keeps saying goodbye to all of us. I dont want to come with a speech like dont do it, we love you. She has gone through a lot. What can I do?

I feel sorry she's going through this and for you too. She's definitely had a hard life. Maybe try to spend more time with her and get her friends or family to do that too. Let her have some fun with you guys and get her a therapist. If she knows she's not alone and you guys love her then she'll rethink her choice. I hope everything turns out ok.

Talk with her and find the happy things on her life. Help her to find something to hold on. That can give her hope. if you are struggling to help her find a counselor or a church they have awesome resources to help her connect to others who are going through or have been through what she is going through. Even if she's not a veteran you can contact a veterans center and they can help or help you with resources.

"You can be a victim or you can nut up and leave him." It's not that complicated. If she's unwilling to help herself there's nothing you can do.

She reaaalllyy been through tough shits, im really sorry it happened to her.. maybe dont let her to be alone cuz some bad thought may be come to her brain, always company her so she won't feel alon, talk to her, how was her day was it good or meh, build up the convos, go to good event around town so she can't forget her bad thoughts for awhile
