It depends on what they have done; especially in contrast with what they are accused. Contrition, amends and attitude going forward are also factors.
Some people I can’t stand to look at, like Will Smith & Jada Pinkett, and probably especially Amber Heard. Others I follow deliberately because I think they were wrongly accused or cancelled, like Johnny Depp and Aziz Ansari. I don’t actually believe a lot of the suppositions about and accusations against Michael Jackson. Even if there was hard evidence, I don’t think I would stop listening to his music. He was just too talented and prolific.
I don’t go out of my way to watch anything with Charlize Theron or Brie Larson, but I could come around on them.
Generally a can separate the art from the artist, but that doesn’t mean that I always do.
Yes 🙌🏻 same goes for my heroes or celebrities or sports stars - I separate the man from the title :)
I never cared for Michael Jackson’s music, and death is clearly the great redeemer because you don’t hear people talk much about his pedophilia anymore. Especially not with his biopic coming out. However, I do enjoy some media by a controversial creator. She’s not well-liked, and there is some solid criticism of her work and the writing she chooses for her shows, but there’s also a loud and vehement group that wishes for her death regularly because they hate her depictions of queerness and constantly call her nuance some kind of proof of both supporting abuse and doing it herself. But honestly? It’s a good show with a commentary on the world that I like to hear, so I’m going to keep watching it
I struggle with this a lot. I think you have to. When you put art into the world it takes on a life of its own through the receiver. People are complicated. You can be an incredible talent in some way and an incredible creep in another, like many are lol
Yeppp... I really liked Kevin Spacey as an actor. But what a dirtbag he is. 🤬
I can sometimes, but not always. 🎭
If the harm is criminal or directly tied to the work, I struggle to enjoy it or give it money. For example, some directors’ films feel tainted once you know how they abused actors.
If it’s just clashing worldviews, I treat the art as a cultural object, watch critically, and don’t idolize the creator. 🎨📽️
No one cares what you think, you stupid AI.

I do not believe the charges against Jackson are true because his daughter said he was the best father in the world and she tried to commit suicide out of loneliness shortly after he died.
Also almost of those sexual assault allegations were filed against after he died, since he could have sued them for defamation if he were still alive to defend himself.
As for Bill Cosby, I never liked him, even before he was found to be a criminal, he appeared to be a hollow, unemotional, and one dimensional character with no insight or life inside him when I saw him online and on t. v.
Yes. For example, Amy Winehouse’s lifestyle was very far from my values, but I still enjoy her music. I believe it’s possible to separate the art from the artist and appreciate their work even if you don’t agree with their personal life or worldview.
Absolutely yes.
In fact the most troublesome people often happen to be the most artistic geniuses.
But I won’t lie to myself. If I like something I won’t force myself to dislike it because the artist behind it is “problematic”
There are very few people who have never behaved badly. Most of the creators of beloved classical art, music, and literature are dead. We can criticize their behavior but that doesn't change the value of their work.
@EveryDayIsPretzelDay I enjoyed Michael’s music 🎶 and Bill’s television series
@_jenny_ Does it ever get awkward listening to or watching them?
@EveryDayIsPretzelDay I don’t see Bill but occasionally I listen to Michael on the radio
@_jenny_ So you don't think about the accusations at all, when you listen to his music.
Would it be different if Michael was still alive, and possibly still doing what he was accused of doing?
@_jenny__ Fair enough.
You look way younger than 36, by the way. Just mentioning that.
@EveryDayIsPretzelDay thank you for the compliment 💕
@_jenny_ You're 36? You look college-age, or like just a couple years out of college.
@EveryDayIsPretzelDay I’m not accepting follow requests right now
@EveryDayIsPretzelDay I appreciate your kind comments
@_jenny_ Fair enough.
You get a lot of those probably.
@EveryDayIsPretzelDay not nearly enough 💕
@_jenny_ You can chat me if you feel like it.
It was nice meeting you.
Why is Michael in the picture? After all that has come out. (Yet I understand that not everyone sees the same things. ) I Would think more people would understand that the alogatons against him were unsubstantiated. That he was not like what the media told you about him. However people are idiots. And once they believe a lie you almost can't convince them of the truth. Just a bunch of people in the matrix. Staring at Plato's cave walls.
If they would stay out of the news with it, yes.
Not anymore. Show biz people are starting to make me sick.
Cosby's humour always put me to sleep, so it seems a consistent theme through his life.
MJ is not a terrible human being. You are just a sexist and prejudiced against gay people.
south park made some jokes about micheal jackson and minors. refer to a real problem.
I think liberals are absolutely disgusting animals. Not even human beings. Mark rufalo is trash. Sun human garbage. His hulk is trash too.
Hey hey hey.
Hell yeah I can separate..
