If falsely accused of a crime, would you choose 12 jurors or 3 judges?

That's the question. Which would you rather have? A peer juror, like the USA uses, or 3 judges like most other nations use?

I think it would depend a lot on what I was accused of. For a very technical crime in terms of the law, I would prefer the panel of Judges because they would be more likely to understand the nuances of the situation in regard to the legality or lack thereofs. If it was just a common crime that I was accused of and I was not to inflammatory then I would certainly choose the 12 person since I think they would be more likely to understand the common aspects of it. It's a crap shoot either way, and this is a very good question that I've never seen asked before. Thank you for asking it.

need jurors of same level. judges have been awful. they don't relate to real people and life. one judge alone like israel even for money is unacceptable even in jew tradition. israel is barely a democracy. only in contrast to neighbors!

Democracy is not a Biblical system of government. The Bible says Irael is supposed to be judged by the Elders of the land (must be 50 or older) and must be the leader of one of the 12 Tribes of Israel.

Israel was never supposed to have a King either. Samuel rebuked the people for voting in a King, and said, "God was your King."

Juries are more likely to get it wrong than judges. They do it all the time. Smooth talking lawyers convince people all the time. You'd like to think one person at least can figure it out but they probably routinely get pressured by the rest to go along with what most people think and get rushed through a decision. I'd take my chances with three logical judges who know better what the standards are for a verdict and are not as easily swayed by emotion.

I've said the same thing for decades now. Give me the three Judges. At least they have law degrees. A peer jury has no real training in the law, only brief instructions.
