Do you believe Mayor Zohran Mamdani truly did not know his commissioner had scheduled a meeting with Iran’s UN ambassador?

A Top Mamdani Official Tried to Meet with Iran
Ana Maria Archila, Commissioner for International Affairs, almost took a meeting with the Islamic Republic’s ambassador to the U. N. - https://www.city-journal.org/article/new-york-office-for-international-affairs-commissioner-ana-maria-archila-iran

For anyone who missed this story: New York City’s international-affairs commissioner scheduled a meeting with Iran’s UN ambassador, and the meeting was canceled only after the U. S. State Department intervened. Mayor Zohran Mamdani claims he knew nothing about it beforehand. I do not find that credible. I suspect he knew about—or approved—the meeting and distanced himself once federal officials stepped in, although that has not been proven. Either he is being dishonest, or he lacks control over his own administration. Neither explanation inspires confidence. Municipal officials should not be conducting sensitive foreign-policy outreach behind the federal government’s back.

Yes, he did not know
No, I believe he did know and is playing dumb after federal officials stepped in
