The DSA calls for a new constitution and democratic socialist republic. If states like California and New York seceded to create it, would you support or oppose them?

Republican fascism must be stopped. Have a look at what always happens to authoritarian regimes eventually. You'll soon have people being inprisoned and tortured for ridiculous things such as "suggesting that fearless leader actually has need of an anus". I just can't believe that there are still people who worship the huge orange baby... sad...
That doesn’t answer either question. The secession scenario is hypothetical, but the DSA’s call for a new constitution and democratic socialist republic comes from its own agenda. Would you support those states leaving to establish that system, and would you personally move there—or would you oppose the effort and remain in the United States?
There has been no mention of actual secession to my knowledge, I believe the discussion more accurately would refer to the split within the party. The DSA wing is intended to be more along the lines of serving the people rather than the corporations and the oligarchs that fund Republicans and centrist Dems such as Schumer and Jeffries in favor of publicly funded representatives. Campaign finance MUST be brought under control if the growing economic inequality is to be addressed. Personally, I live in Texas and would not ba able financially to relocate. I'm an aging man and a massive move like that would be prohibitive. Realistically almost every city over a certain pop. is blue. Dallas is blue. I think secession is just a bunch of noise and posturing. We had kids in HS back in the 70's that would make that noise all the time. As to a new constitution, I think the current one will have to be strengthened and upgraded to protect against people who want to waltz in and abuse every loophole they can stick their fingers in and turn the country into their own personal money machine and subvert all the laws to make themselves invulnerable to consequences. That's called a dictator, above the law and everyone subject to his whim. tRump refuses to obey the orders of any court if he doesn't like them, and refuses to be bound by the rules that congress puts in place. That's unaccaeptable no matter who is doing it. Almost as if this regime has already broken the current constitution beyond repair I'd say. Lots of fixing to be done once Trumplethinskin is gone.
The modern left is much more fascist. The UK is extremely leftist and jailing law abiding citizens for tweeting about crimes.
Youtube is blocking US created content because the UK doesn’t approve of it. New York is trying a Florida man for violating NY gun laws that don’t even apply in Florida. Dude had never even been to NY before they extradited him!
Democrats are the ones silencing people who think and vote differently from themselves, and assassinating the ones that they can’t silence. Democrats are the ones who took over the education system so that they could brainwash children and indoctrinate potential new voters.
You seem to have drank the kool-aid yourself. How about you move to one of the “socialist” countries that you respect so much and report back about how awesome it is. 😂😂😂
@Chazmatazz269 ah yes. I remember you. You've attacked me before and warned me to change my world view if I wanted to be taken seriously by people such as yourself. I won't do that I assure you. All these half truths and blatant misinformation you're spouting... maybe take a look at redistricting and attempted passage of blatant voter suppression bills, but wait... you'll only see the tRump approved version of any of thos e things and never the truth, right?
Truth is it is most likely that ya boy is about to be the lamest of ducks as tRump continues to do very stupid and self serving things. Where's the day one promises none of which have been kept. There are the well documented cases of fraud wherein he personally tries to sue the government that he is running for $10 billion. You ok with the corruption/ He spends all his time on these vanity projects that nobody cares about. The ballroom and helipad. The arch. His fair. His rasslin' match. The reflecting pool. Throwing money about stupidly while job numbers decrease, income inequality increases, inflation continues, and his illegal war of choice that he started with Iran continues to screw the entire world economy up. And he can't fix it. Shall I go on? Do you actually want more of the orange toddler? You saw his childish stunt photobombing the Spanish national team right?
It must be highly stressful being a Trumpist about now. The terrible polls, underwater on favorability in EVERY category besides the fact that he can't even stay awake or remember which way to go to get off the tarmac (google Erdogan guides Trump off the runway) He's not capable of operating a popsicle stand anymore and R's refuse to do anything about it. See there I didn't even mention covering up the pedo-files. So go ahead and find a way to blame Biden for Obama for the ruined grass on the whitehouse lawn and ellipse (more money) and see how much laughter that old thang gets. Can't really last much longer... can it.
@Ill_made_Knight Thanks. That actually answers part of what I asked. You’re saying that financially you could not relocate, and you also say you would rather strengthen and improve the current Constitution.
But I never claimed the DSA itself is proposing that states secede. The secession is explicitly my hypothetical. The part that is not hypothetical is the DSA’s own political agenda. Its newly launched program says, “For the working class to govern, we need a new political system.” It calls for abolishing the Electoral College and Senate and replacing the President and Supreme Court with an executive and judiciary chosen by and subordinate to Congress. It also calls for public ownership of the largest corporations and essential industries.
So Trump, Iran, his poll numbers, the ballroom, and the rest of that are separate arguments and don’t answer the hypothetical I posed.
The remaining question is simple: if some states hypothetically attempted to leave the Union specifically to establish that DSA-style political and economic system, would you support their secession or oppose it?
that is all anti orange has. predict and fear monger.
If the state i’m in gets much worse, i will have to leave. Drumpf flipped ten counties red in 2024. That’s the real reason California redrew their districts. I’m hoping Drumpf can force them to repeal their own gerrymandering and Cali can swing back to the center, at least. If not, i’m looking at other states as options.
I have lived in California all my life. I like it a lot, despite the Democrats in charge.
I love the house and property that my wife and I have lived in for over 24 years and I intend to stay here.
Democrats, Republicans, Democratic Socialists, MAGA or whatever can blow me.
Imagine what would happen if california the 8th largest economy in the world did that. Would end up like cuba or Venezuela. These are rich countries socialists ran into the ground.
No, I would put up a wall to keep them out after their food runs out.
we just should not do a 'war to get them back' lol.
Id stay far from there before they discovered it wasn't real communism.
Nope, but I would encourage losers to move there.
Sure. Think of the hot broads who'd also move there !!!
Not for a million dollars.
Like you would know
If not me then who?
I prefer freedom
I'd oppose it
