Why are the people of the United States not interested in politics?

I think most people are interested in politics but they have no clue what's really going on because they get their information from corporate media that withholds information and spews propaganda. As a result, people wind up fighting over partisan politics instead of uniting against the common enemy.

People have busy lives. In America people have endless opportunities but they take effort. They work hard raise families, support communities and take advantage of all the attractions available in the US. They are really to busy living their lives to get too involved in politics. We are now seeing the difference between Republicans and democrats. Democrats are able to protest during the day on a weekday because they have nothing else in their lives and they are bitter about it

I've often read that too, partly it's the non compulsory voting, second apparently it's the two focus groups who only "are politically engaged" are those religious or those who take an interest in economics (government budget ) household budget overlap) from a purely interest point of view, same could be applied extrapolated
