Why are Islamist extremists behind many recent European attacks, and how do some LGBT activists justify supporting such regimes?

Why do Islamist extremist groups appear to be responsible for a significant proportion of terrorist attacks in recent decades compared with extremists motivated by other religions or ideologies?

It seems that Europe has experienced numerous Islamist terrorist attacks over the past 30–50 years, leading many people to question why this has occurred and whether immigration, integration, security policies, and counter-extremism efforts have been effective.

I also find it difficult to understand why some LGBT activists strongly support the Palestinian cause when many countries governed by conservative interpretations of Islamic law have severe legal and social penalties for homosexuality. In some of these countries, LGBT people face imprisonment, corporal punishment, or even the death penalty, depending on the jurisdiction and how the laws are enforced.

How do supporters reconcile advocating for LGBT rights while also supporting causes or governments associated with societies that have restrictive laws regarding homosexuality?

So we should instead support the current US goverment who *checks notes* hates us, would prefer us dead or back in hiding and looks to strip away our rights and protections? Should we support christofascists pressuring our goverment for the examination of young girl's genitals just to weed out an infinitesimally small percentage of trans athletes? Maybe support a pedophile president perhaps?

Look neither of those scenarios make sense, but calling out one and not the other just makes you seem like you have an agenda against one but not the terroristic acts being committed by religious people back home.
