Will alimony be repealed before it’s actually paid equally to men and women?

There have been rumblings about how “unfair” alimony is now that there are a few men receiving it from women. Let me stress VERY FEW. Naturally those are mostly feminist rumblings. Funny how they never questioned its fairness when women only ever received alimony. The “equality” goalposts are always in motion.
My question is simple, and kind of a two-parter. First, do you think we will eliminate alimony entirely before men are receiving at the same rates as they’re paying? Also, should it be repealed?
Equality would be either everyone gets it or no one does. How should we handle alimony in a fair and equal society?

I don't think alimony should be abolished per se, but it should only apply if the divorce is not "no fault" and is proven beyond a reasonable doubt that the spouse in question broke the vow.

I will never understand why feminists say that the massive spike of divorces within the past several decades is because "women aren't taking the abuse anymore" despite the fact that abuse was always a valid reason for divorce, but they think it is because of no-fault divorce for some reason.

I believe alimony should not exist at all.

If you divorce then leave... go support yourself. No one else should be bound to go to work and toil and then pay some fucker who chose to leave.

The moment the divorce occurs. ... you two are severed. Their money is theirs. No one should get to keep taking a former spouses income.

Are you aware of how low the percentage of men whose wives are the breadwinner is? Nevermind wives who fully support their husbands. I’m not American but I know alimony is an American term and only about 10-15% of divorces in America come with alimony so I don’t think you’re yelling about a real issue

That’s not actually true. Ongoing spousal support is fairly rare. This is primarily because recipients realize that their ex can simply stop paying. So one-time settlements are typically arranged in lieu of ongoing payments. Almost all divorces end with such settlements OR alimony, and typically levied against the partner with the greater earnings and/or assets.
As of this year, in more than half of all heterosexual marriages, women are earning as much as or more than their husbands and about 15% are categorized as the primary “breadwinner”.
This should result in a minimum of 15% and up to 50% of alimony or settlement payments being paid by women to men. Yet women receive 97% of payments.
So there is definitely a problem with “equality” surrounding this issue. Only a woman would suggest otherwise simply because you are obviously insulated from the problem. If it’s not your problem, then there’s no problem at all. Right?

Men will never get fair treatment in a divorce; Guys will always get the short end of the stick. There might be a very small amount of guys who get alimony due to some odd circumstances but as a rule the guy always loses.
