The fact that it's 50 years too late. There is a human element to this. People come to the United States illegally because it's still better, safer, more prosperous than where they're from. And from Reagan to Biden presidents have largely turned a blind eye to it because it's cheap labor cheaper than American labor. But as the years past it got more numerous. Those here would have kids. Their kids would have kids. Now we're a couple generations deep and Trump decides not only slam the door shut. But also go on the offensive deporting illegals right off the street. Mixed up in this some mistakes are going to happen, and they have. Not everyone deported has been illegal. But back to my original point. It's one thing for a grandparent who's been here 40 to 50 years. It's another for a parent to be deported. But they have kids, teenagers, or young adults that have always lived here. They didn't come here illegally. Their parents did. Everything they know is America. But you're deporting the rest of their family who are illegal. Families should not be torn apart like that. Nor should kids have to abandon their home (America) for an offense that was not theirs.

There's nothing wrong with enforcing border policy. Foing it with ZEAL 50 years. too late IS a problem.

"The Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRIRA) amended 8 U. S. C. § 1325 to provide that an alien apprehended while entering or attempting to enter the United States at a time or place other than as designated by immigration officers shall be subject to a civil penalty."

This is not true. The state dept. is given the jurisprudence to offer, monitor, limit and revoke any and all VISAs. Rubio was correct and it was a power entrusted to the state Dept by Congress and upheld by the Supreme Court.

The vast majority of these illegal immigration "cases" are nothing more than administrative and clerical checks (no papers no stay) that do not need to bog down the judicial system. Sure, there are some that require a judge to determine the legality of revocation, but that doesn't negate the fact that Rubio was given authority by Congress to make judgement calls on who should enter and be allowed to stay.
