Do some fathers praise having daughters to hide son preference?

I saw men who has baby girl say something like “so many want sons, but having daughters will change your life in a beautiful way”. I got triggered by that, because son or daughter will both change your life in a good way. Do you think men say that to comfort themselves because they actually expecting for son. I got triggered because, by saying that statement make having a certain gender of a child is better than the other.
