A lot of people were ban from education not just women. Look at the inquisitor they killed people for trying to prove the earth is not flat or banning books.

A lot of them told you to be humbly a bum on the streets and take the tiny crumbs we throw in your face because it is what God wants.

Or if you look at the African slaves they didn't want them to read and write because once a slave is educated and aware and he will rebel and demand fair treatment.

Same thing with the Vikings. The British also had concentration camps, etc.

Not sure what you are getting at with Vikings and British concentration camps. By medieval times people knew the earth was round that goes back to Ancient Greek Times. Galileo was prosecuted for claiming the earth moved round the sun, though he was sentenced to house arrest not burned. Bruno was the only scientist the inquisition really persecuted for science, because he believed in aliens. Occult practices were also a factor though in his persecution.

I am just saying historical the powers that be wanted you to remain ignorant, so you're easy to control or turn into a slave and serve the elites.

I mentioned Vikings because they had white slaves. During the second Boer wars the British had concentration champs for the Dutch boer descendants in south africa. Women in nobility were educated like men, education was expensive and limited for rich people. Universities belonged to Christian orders which excluded women, with exception of nun monasteries which did educate women just to bare minimum. Women couldn't get any office anyway so was education rather waste of time an money.
Generally majority of people couldn't read and write. This changed a with introduction of Gutenberg printing press. Book were hand written before and rather rare, but this changed after 15th century.

Except it was mostly pushed by religions. Yes its true that it was the case for most women during that period, but often that was the case because of religions.

Banned by whom? The daughters of nobles were taught to read and write, they often largely ran their husband's estates.

Most people in the medieval period couldn't read or write. Notse sailors settled the Americas without being able to read 500 years before columbus.

Was only with the invention of the printing press that common people actually learned to read and started to bd educated.

In the muslim world literacy rates are in the toliet.

Yes women in medieval Europe were banned if not by law by practice and the Catholic Church was complicit by imposing rules that excluded women from any role in theology as most of the knowledge and the teaching was being controlled by the church.. Women were shut out of education in Europe until 1860 when the Swiss first allowed them access to university.

Only the aristocracy and wealthy in Europe could send their women to get an education. Back then, learning Christian theology was a part of education.

No. Women were educated if their families could afford it but the subject range was more limited. After all no wealthy husband wants a stupid wife.
