Already, some people do. However, the current love dolls are extremely limited. Robots are single-purpose, which they may do very well. However, humans or even dogs, they are not multi-purpose. They can't walk, talk, initiate sex, make a sandwich, and clean the house.

However, if Moore's Law holds up, in thirty years, they will be one million times more advanced and capable. They will be able to do anything humans do and can easily appear to be human. Men, especially, will buy and fall in love with their beautiful love dolls. Not only will they cook, shop, and clean the house, but the man can say, "Get dressed, I am taking you out for dinner and dancing," and his friends and associates will believe he lucked out and found a beautiful and classy girlfriend.

Yes possible. Attraction is made up by imagination and relationship is following the script. It's like a reading a book. Robot can be programmed to follow the script and it can make it to look anyone in your imagination.

We are capable of loving our pets. So I don't see why we might not love an AI partner even to the point of calling them from work and looking forward to getting home and being with them. Most people get a buzz at being greeted at the door by the cat or dog.

Safety may be a factor. And I know I am veering into territory related but distinct from the question. A movie came out in the 1970's called "The Black Hole". It was based on a book that I read.

An expedition crew discovered a lost spaceship that was also from Earth. The man that commandeered the lost ship, as well as making drones out of the human crew, manufactured a robot not larger than some humans. The book's narrative said that laws on Earth restricted robots of this size and strength for safety concerns.

While this was fiction, Allen Dean Foster may have been inadvertently prophetic. I have read articles conjecturing adult size robots, female or otherwise, can easily kill an adult male if hacked.

I think it’s possible to develop very real feelings for a robot or AI partner, even though the robot itself may not experience love the way a human does. If something consistently listens to you, understands your personality, comforts you, and makes you feel seen, your emotions can become genuine. But I’d still question whether that’s the same as being loved back, because a real relationship involves two people with their own feelings, choices, and experiences.

I expect AI robots will mimic real people as well as some guy or gal in a foreign country imitates or uses the words and phrases of someone who love them to fool people into giving them money or such.

Some people are desperate for validation and companionship and this is the best they can do for a host of reasons. NOt healthy, but it happens.

I'm 100% sure it will happen, in our live time. I expect it within the next 3-5 years. I also expect more women then man to be in to this. This is due to that Ai can imitate personality much better and easier than getting perfect esthetics.

And let's not forget it already happened with simple chat bots, some tried to get married with them...

In my opinion it is impossible, it may be possible in a book or in a science fiction, bur in reality it is not possible. First of all. robots are not complex being as humans are. they don't have a consciousness and they don't fell emotions. A robot can simulate that if he is built that way, but it is not real, because behind that there is a man programm ing a robot to fall in love.

I personally do not think so, it could be the perfect woman in code and work but a robot will never be able to replicate the soft touch of a woman cuddling to you.
That is about all I really care about. I could have multiple robot workers making dinner and cleaning my house but being able to feel that warm, soft touch of a woman is something they cannot replicate at least for the foreseeable future.

I think so. people don’t really fall in love with what someone is, they fall in love with how they are experience them. If a robot can create a sense of intimacy, understanding and attachment, the feelings on the human side can be completely real. Whether the robot feels anything back is a different question xD
